Count me as another interested in this new harness setup. After a couple recent trips where a lot of time was spent on highways with intersections and thus no highway assist, I think I'm finally ready to get myself a Comma.

Any updates on the Lukas angle based steering upgrade, when it will be available?
We're still helping work out some final tweaks, but it's getting close. Honestly it was ready in my opinion a couple of weeks ago, but Lukas really wants to make sure everyone has the best experience.

Do it!

I’ve had my Comma 4 for about two months, now. I wasn’t sure what I was getting into or if it would be worth it, but what the heck. Well, I think I can now say it has been a game changer. I can’t seem to go anywhere without using it. Sometimes, I think I will just try driving myself, but one block later the Comma gets engaged 😂 I’ve always loved driving my R1T. The Comma takes that to a whole different level.

It is a bit of a challenge getting it installed. After that, there is a learning curve, for sure - trying different settings, experimenting with different models, and just trying to understand how it all works. Two months later, I’m still learning. And, even though there is room for improvement, I am pretty frickin’ amazed by its capabilities. This new Lukas angle steering harness should resolve a few of the weaknesses with the current versions.

Were you controlling the speed or did the Comma drop 5-10 mph to go around those curves? One of my biggest annoyances with Rivian's HWA system on the interstate going through the mountains is how it over-slows for corners unnecessarily.

I haven't bothered installing my C4 yet as I'm waiting for this new angle harness to become available so I only have to do it once.

I am using mads mode there as I've been pushing corners at high speeds trying to push limits.

I think some of the longitudinal issues will be worked out over time. We only have a small number of devs that are working on Rivian and for the moment, angle and a better tuned torque with 90deg defeat have been priority.

I’m in the mountains a lot. I almost always use MADDS mode in those situations.

Hard to tell exactly how tight those corners were in your video, but the Comma definitely appeared to be performing better than I would have expected, considering the higher speeds you were going 👍

It can't be overstated how much better a driving experience angle-based steering provides. It's night and day.

Okay, okay. Now, I’m getting pretty excited about shelling out some more cash for this upgrade 🫤 Hey, it’s only money, right ✌

I do have one question. I have found that the North Nevada model is clearly the best I have experienced for longer sweeping curves. However, even that model can struggle sometimes to stay away from crowding the inside lines of longer curves. The center lane divider line, on left hand curves, is the biggie. Does this latest Lukas angle steering device do a better job of keeping the vehicle centered in the lane on longer curves?

That's more of a model issue.

That's more of a model issue.
I’ve tried 5 different models and they all did the same thing. Some way worse than others. So far, my current model is easily the best, but still not perfect. Guess I need to try a few more models.
