Are other manufacturers in the US having issues shipping vehicles?

Rivian is doing a much better job than Ford did with the Bronco rollout. That was also a high demand vehicle launch with pre orders. I won't detail all the issues that Ford had but the cherry on top was people going to pick up their new Bronco only to have a $10,000 "market adjustment" added by the dealer. Choice was to pay or walk away.

Annoyingly just received the same delay notification from the Seattle team this morning. Was supposed to pick up this Tuesday and now I'm delayed almost 2 weeks due to a "train delay". The worst part is that Rivian pressed me to make payment yesterday saying it had to be done 72 hours prior to delivery so I wired the full payment already.

Would have been nice to have this information sooner - I don't imagine the 1 week + train delay just occurred this morning

If Rivian is holding your money for two extra weeks before delivering the promised product they should be paying you interest…or offer to return the $$$ until prepared to deliver. I would push back pretty hard. I perceive this as highly unethical….they do not get a pass for lacking a grasp on their own delivery logistics. A day or two might be understandable, not two weeks.

I would demand a loaner in this case. If your delivery team told you to pay, that’s on them because they knew the car wasn’t at the rail yard yet, let alone the SC.
You paid for a Rivian, get a Rivian loaner until they can deliver your R2.

Hilariously, the stupidity continues. Less than 24 hours from my rescheduled pick up time, they are telling me they need to reschedule again as they discovered some function is not working properly. Pretty shitty because I have a trip planned and was going to road trip with the R2.

I just got told my pickup order tomorrow morning has been pushed back to late afternoon at best, possibly into the next day. Vehicle "did not meet final quality checks". Hopefully they get it squared away. They offered a rental if it gets pushed to the next day.

That’s the same story they gave me. They didn’t give me any other details. I’m scheduled to pick up at 9 AM tomorrow, if it gets rescheduled again, we are going to walk away.

I was able to take delivery as scheduled on 8/7 (yay). Some very minor issues with the vehicle but overall great.

One (major) issue. Rivian still hasn't processed the loan check from my bank. How can they give me the vehicle and still not deposit the check over 1 month after it was sent to them?
