I wonder how much of the an upgrade the 20” wheels would be for the LE. I may just get the 21’s and sell them in order to pick up some methods and Falken Wildpeaks.
I second this. My R1T 21" wheels are stacked on my garage. I like the 20" for both looks and most of all tire choices. The 21" are just too limited and expensive to run. I want the LE but this may be enough for me to delay a bit for the premium for the 20s.

I WOULD like to know the offsets, lug patterns etc between the R1 and R2 offerings and whether I can run my R1 21"s on a R2...

Anyone know?

Would it kill ‘em to have a pop up over the wheels and color names?
Lemme help you. It goes like this, grey, grey, grey, grey, sorta not grey, grey, grey, gray, purple-grey, black.

Oh, the wheels. Fewer options and all grey.

Note R2 Performance's range figures between 21" and 20" wheel/tire options. 330 vs 307. Pretty significant going from the Pirelli AS (Scorpion MS) to the BFG AW (Trail Terrain T/A).

Pet peeve….19/21” rims. Pointless.
Not pointless if you off-road and swap out the AS tires for tires meant for rocks and dirt. 255/65R19 (32.1"), aired-down, would get you better off-road traction than the 255/60R20.

Yes I see that now. Would say having both the OE 21s and aftermarket light 20s on my R1T that's probably pretty accurate. I do think I get some better numbers w my lighter 20s. But the limitations in 21" tire choices cost me more in the long run. Much prefer 20" wheels that you can wrap in ATs or AS. Best of both worlds. Which is what I'll opt for if my 21s are compatible w the R2.

There are something like five 21" tire options for the R1s now (275/55R21), including a AT. Plus R2 has an different size entirely: 255/55R21. And with different load requirement (112* instead of 116).

I just did a quick search on 255/55R21 tires on discount tire and tirerack.com to see if they will be easier to come by in that particular size.

The result: ZERO TIRES. They have ZERO options in that size.
Hah. So Rivian has done it again. Go with 20" (or the 19") wheels if you want max number of tire options from the get-go I guess. It's not the end of the world. Can always change wheels & tires later on during ownership. Plus, being a larger segment of market, there probably will be more aftermarket wheel options than R1.

I realize I made a typo in my search. They do have 275/55R21 tires -- I mistakenly typed 255/55/R21 which yielded no results. Please disregard my post.

You were right though. I did a search for 255/55R21. Rivian has indeed done it again.

The 275's are for R1. The 22" wheel for R2 will need the 255's that you initially searched for.

That being said, even though it took a while there are now options for the R1 21" wheels that weren't there for launch, so I'm guessing tire manufacturers will be a bit quicker considering how high a volume R2 is supposed to be...

Do we know if the offset is the same as the R1? I would love to use my Black 20" rims as an option...
Same question here. I'm thinking about getting aftermarket 20's for my R1S and it'd help if those will fit on the R2. Those 21's suck, I think there might be 2 or 3 options for replacement now and they're not cheap. I'm leasing my R1S so I'll have to put the 21's back on when I return it so I wanted to be able to use the 20's on the R2. That way the wheels I get on the R2 won't matter since I'll just garage them for 3 years.
