I put down a $1000 deposit. We’ll see. I actually worry that the R1S is too big for my needs. It’s all making me rethink whether the R1T may end up being the right fit. Would be helpful to see these things in person.
What part of revenue, profit margins, and flow of valuable data (cited by me as the key reasons) have anything to do with benevolence? I didn’t say squat about protecting consumers. Maybe you should reread my comment.
You guys are all doing it wrong. This is a Rivian. Mount two surfboards or SUPs on the top. The overhang will be like a hat bill protruding over the windshield…
I look forward to the day when all of us pre-order holders can quit bitching about Rivian communication and production delays, and finally move on to far more productive bitching about build quality and infotainment bugs.
Congrats. I ordered a year ahead of you, have the same build, and am also in California. No guide and no idea when I’m due for a truck. The lord works in mysterious ways. Ha.
Most people don't grok that what happened in cell phones and TVs can also happen in cars. The hardware is further commoditized and the bulk of the revenue, profitable margins, and valuable data flows to Google and Apple. Tesla gets it, which is why they've bucked the trend and built a moat...
I have deposits on three different electric cars with three different manufacturers. They are all 100% refundable. I plan to actually purchase just one of them. By your logic, I'm a customer of all three companies but that's not reality. What about people who put down a $1,000 deposit and then...
I'm with you. I have sent a grand total of two emails since I've been a pre-order holder over the last two years. Both were simply ignored. Ha.
Two thoughts on this:
1. There's a massive surge in CS chats today based on this morning's email. So today is not a good day to reach out.
2. I'm...
Not sure I get this logic. Why would focusing on one versus both make them less likely to hit their number? They clearly have way more than 25K orders for R1Ts. I suspect they are more likely to hit the number if they punt on the R1S than if they try to do both.
Curious to hear more about this. I’ve had an R1T large pack non-LE reservation since 7/2020. Supposedly in the July / Sept window but zero contact from Rivian to date.
I’ve fiddled with the R1T config a few times but never switched to the R1S. Considering switching for the same reasons you...
100% agree. My running joke with my wife about all of these SUV/coupe/hybrid things is that they have all the storage of a sedan combined with the on-road driving performance of an SUV... What more could you ask for?
The Mercedes I linked seems like an actual SUV. Even has an option for a third...
Similar boat.
I have a July to September delivery window for an R1T but Rivian refuses to respond to any of my emails, which is starting to annoy me. And as I see all the reports of glitches pile up on these message boards, my enthusiasm for Rivian is waning...
The iX isn't as ugly to me as...
I tried to get my 95-lb lab to ride in the front seat of my 911 once with the top down. He couldn't sit at an angle where his head wasn't compressed by the angle of the windshield. Needless to say, he didn't want any part of it...
Looks cool. I used to have a convertible 911. Was fun... Please send a photo with two big muddy dogs in the back seat and I'll definitely add it to my list!
Ah, right. Sorry. I keep forgetting that there's an electric Mustang. And that a Mustang is no longer a sports car but some kind of hybrid SUV thing. But not exactly an SUV because it has a coupe shape and the storage of a sports car... :)
Don't think I can fit my pups in one of those but maybe...
