That would have been helpful when I reached out to support. The response only included a PDF of the templates and a link to the video.
I did not see a QR code on the box. Most likely I missed it, but it would be better to just include a piece of paper inside the box with the QR code and basic...
It's mostly my fault. I read through all of the sheets a few weeks ago when I printed them off, but then I had to put off installing the boards for a few weeks for various reasons.
There's 4 bolt templates per side. Two of them line up against the edge of a panel, and two don't. It's obvious if...
Finally got my boards installed today! I have some photos, and information about the 4" grommets. (TLDR: they won't work!)
First, some finished photos!
Some notes on the install process
I went with the 4" hole method. I actually recommend that, even though (as I'll show below) I...
I want it for that 1-in-20 times when it doesn't go back into kneel because I adjusted the truck, but didn't drive far enough to trigger "go into kneel again on next park".
I said this before, but I still think there could be a pop-up similar to the garage one that opens when you put the...
Feels like this one was focused on quality-of-life improvements and getting out quickly for the 12V issue, so I don't think that's too big of a deal.
But I'd like to see the dash cam added sooner rather than later.
I don't know if you want non-positive responses, but for me, if it ends up being more than the ~$50 I paid for the generic trunk organizer off Amazon, I'm not sure having one custom-fit for the Rivian has any benefit.
Sure, it doesn't fill the space perfectly, but the space around the organizer...
I think there's a misconception that causes this concern (which has come up many times before, search the forums). The air suspension is constantly adjusting, no matter what you do. Just watch your hood whenever you pull up to a stop light.
Using kneel mode just adds a few more adjustments in...
Looks great! I love seeing that CY R1S are starting to get delivered. Our R1S got bumped to Q4 this year, which sucks because we really want to swap out or Model S before something else expensive breaks.
But I'm glad more people are getting them who have been waiting. We love our CY R1T and...
This is a real shame, I can't imagine the cost of that plug being more than a few pennies. The electrical is already there (almost no wiring needed), the outlet is interior, so doesn't need to be waterproof, and it's a dirt-cheap part.
I really hope they don't optimize-away the niceties of...
Yeah, I was feeling pretty good about it on the last version, but it's definitely back to making me take my phone out way more often now.
Previously when this happened, I'd reboot the phone (and/or toggle bluetooth in control panel), and it usually would go back to working better for a while...
Just so you know, the early Model S have had an absurd amount of issues with 12V batteries. First they were far too undersized, and failed prematurely a lot. They replaced most/all of them with some special battery that works better. But even with that, the 12V batteries apaprently rarely last 4...
Which method did you go with for attaching? It looks like you removed the panels, did you leave them off, or cut slots in them?
Also, did you have any trouble removing the panels? While I have 4" grommets on the way, I'm still debating if I want to test them without cutting the panels first.
This is a very similar story for us. We have a 2015 Model S that we used to love, and had planned on replacing it with a newer model around when the Raven models were out. We heard some pretty solid rumors a refreshed S was coming out, and since they hadn't made many significant changes to the S...
Me, too, #1971!
The 4" grommets I ordered have just left China, so the real question now is who's quicker: a shipment direct from China, or FedEx from a few states away (who also doesn't appear to be able to track packages right now).
Not sure it needs to sound so conspiratorial.
You could have lurkers or even people browsing the forum without an account.
EVSportline has been around for a while, I'm pretty sure they've been making Tesla mods for many years, so I'm sure there's plenty of Tesla converts who already know of...
Also there's strong speculation that they are trying to avoid overwhelming the SCs (which also perform pre-delivery inspections), so even if you are within 5 miles of an SC, you might get "bumped" if there's a lot of deliveries within that area.
No, it isn't. Read it again.
I have Tesla wall connectors with J1772 ends on them. It's a gen2 they were selling at discounted rates at the end of 2021, so I grabbed two of them to load share my single 50A connection.
Once we get our R1S later this year, I'll probably never own a Tesla again...
This is weird, I'm going to have to take my adapter off the Tesla J1772 wall connector I have and make sure it's OK. We bought two older Gen 2 wall connectors (with simple load sharing) so we could charge two vehicles at once on a single circuit.
Since we still have the Tesla, I just bought an...
