RTFM"...jumper cables from the rear bumper and was able to jump enough juice...". What?? Humor or really possible?
Don't be an a$$hole bro. I've read the parts of it when I've needed to. I have A LOT of work, family, and health issues outside of the Rivian. Some days I'm really engaged and fired up on it, others I don't even think about it or drive it. I'm guessing there are a few other people on here who don't or didn't know about jump wires in the hitch compartment.RTFM
It definitely sucks! I was lucky enough to be going on vacation around that time so I did not have use for the R1T. But I agree they need a better way to manually open compartments when this happens. I believe there is a way to manually open the frunk from what I recall from the manual.I'm sorry to say that my new R1T died today from the same Critical Battery Issue. Parked in my garage, but not on charge. Got in it this morning as was hit with the warning. Same as you, I called Service and did the resets but the alert remained. Approximately 4 hours later it is now totally dead! Now I'm waiting on the tow truck to take it back to Atlanta. Luckily, I did not have anything in the gear tunnel, bed, or frunk and the truck was unlocked. I did need my building keys from the console. I pulled the jumper cables from the rear bumper and was able to jump enough juice to activate the console switch and got my keys out. (Rivian has got to come up with a solution for manually operating electronic latches/buttons.) Reading all of the posts about having to endure a long wait for a total HV battery replacement, and NO courtesy loaner, REALLY STINKS!![]()
Happened to me this weekend....2,900 miles. Luckily it didn't happen till 5 mi from my hotel in New Orleans, 200 miles from home. I had the same experience as others, multiple software resets then completely dead truck. Luckily I assumed this would be the case and I parked in a spot that would be conducive to loading the truck on a flatbed. Since there wasn't any electric, there was no way to lock the truck so it stayed unlocked in a public parking lot in New Orleans for 36 hours. It's on a trailer to ATL now.
Any resolution for this? Just had the same error come up myself.
Just to clarify.. are you talking the full Large Pack or the 12v batteries? So its looks like they are replacing my battery pack, current ETA means no truck for about 3 weeks. I've having some bad luck with Rivian, grrr!
They did the exact same for me. Things will get better! So its looks like they are replacing my battery pack, current ETA means no truck for about 3 weeks. I've having some bad luck with Rivian, grrr!

Yes. The way I understand it, the "circuit" that controls the recharging of the 12v batteries failed. It is located within the HV battery structure itself and was not repairable by my local RSC. Therefore, they had to replace the entire HV battery. This apparently fixed the problem because I have had no further issue.Rivian replace your HV battery too?
