As we already can get an adapter why not start from today?
You cannot get an adapter today. And if you could, you couldn't use it on the superchargers.

Perhaps. But this quick adoption by so many companies looks like a massive overload of the Telsa Supercharger vehicle capacity to me when 2024 comes. Telsa owners should be getting pissed right now.
I’m not. I want to continue seeing build out of RAN, plus RAN opening up (access to federal funds). Same with Tesla

I’m surprised that none of you has said that Rivian should give the adapters to early adopters for free. Lol. I’m sure some of you are thinking it.

It will take more than opening RANs to other brands for it to get NEVI funds. They will need to redesign their hardware/sites. (For example, the current sites split power having the minimum a stall can get be 100kW, which is 50kW short of the NEVI requirement.)

No one has mentioned if this change means some people cancelling their Max battery orders.

Access to the SC network solves maybe 50% of those range anxiety problems?

I think people are so incredibly happy about this that they are not worried about paying $200 for an adaptor.

This won’t be anything new. I see this all the time in Sandy even with the SC stalls open Tesla peeps are using EA because it’s faster and cheaper.
Had that happen at Happy Valley. Guy spent 30 minutes trying to get a charge. Was going to tell him but every time I looked his way he looked away from me. Decided to let him figure it out

I'm pumped, and a $200 adapter is a-ok in my mind. (though, it would be nice to to give existing owners some one-time credit or one-time break-even pricing)

We just *really* need Tesla to be more open with the NACS patents and make them actually open.

The adapter will probably be around $300-500. I do hope they offer a retrofit for somewhere around $1,500 for existing vehicles - less likely, but it would be nice.
