Apparently, I could drive from the S.F. Bay Area taking Hwy 101 up to near Seattle and back using all RAN (free) charges. I'll do it when the weather gets warmer.

FYI I used only RAN chargers from here, through Crescent City, up to Crater Lake via Klamath Falls, and back via 101 and Ukiah. Flawless at every one. Planned to go up to Coos Bay, but we called it since we were tired of being on the road.

The ones in Fortuna and Crescent City were nearly mirror images of each other, with a Safeway, McDonalds, and Shell in the same parking lot in similar configs. Really threw my brain for a loop.

Tons of food nearby in Klamath, including what I think is a brewpub from where that picture above is taken. The others are a little less exotic, but doable in a pinch. And if you’re road tripping, you can charge to 70% then fly.

Of course, I got home and today decided to go to the EA in town for a quick ramp back to 70%. 1 charger was ICE’d (and then discovered it was broken), and the other available was down for maintenance. So much for my 100% success rate at EA …

Man. I was just up there like a week before these stations opened. Though I did hit up the others around bend. The one north of bend was way better! The one south of bend was mud and ice.

Hit the Coos Bay station twice this weekend, very impressive charge speed, and no fuss getting things started.

Can't wait until there are more of these stations around!

I hit the Crescent City, Klamath Falls, Ukiah, and Fortuna, on a road trip a couple of weeks ago. They’re all flawless. Klamath’s operator might want to have a discussion about the snow plow company piling up against the chargers, but otherwise, they all worked out great. Food options / stores nearby as well, esp in Klamath.

There’s a little diner, called Norris Family Kitchen, that serves a great breakfast just a couple blocks away, across the road past the Safeway. 10/10 would recommend.
