So...anyone else with a Mac running macOS 13 try to view your Drive Cam videos yet? My drive, a 1TB NVMe, won't mount on my Mac. The same drive mounts fine on my Windows 10 gaming rig. To same I'm displeased is an understatement.

Edit: It does show up in the Disk Utility as a FAT32 volume, but refuses to mount. Strictly speaking, FAT32 is limited to 32GB partitions, yet Rivian says the support 128GB - 2TB. Kinda curious why on earth they didn't use exFAT instead. For what it's worth, a 256GB thumb drive worked fine with the previous Gear Guard implementation, but it was formatted on my Mac, not in the truck.

Sofa King Dumb (say it fast)

it’s like the SW UI/UX person has never driven a car before!

Plus, now to get to Settings to adjust something THAT ABSOLUTELY IS NOT A SETTING, will make my camera icon disappear.

Between the two of us, they are literally obscuring stuff we use every day to put things in absurd places.
Rivian UI team needs to go back to UI principles 101 by reading the old Macintosh Human Interface Guidelines from the 80s, specifically about how people use computer interfaces, and why a logical, consistent UX is so important. They spent millions of $$$ studying and researching it. It’s as much a psychological study as it is a design guide.

I haven't used Shipping Mode yet, but have been just as concerned as vampire drain as you. Glad to see it's making a difference!

What is it like to wake up the car up when in Shipping Mode? Do you have to toggle Shipping Mode off to drive?

I'm planning to ship my current R1T to Hawaii once I get my Max Pack R1T. I plan to put into shipping mode during transportation but I'm just wondering what it will be like for the ship and dock workers while trying to wake up and move the car in Shipping Mode.
No big deal waking it up from shipping mode... manually unlock using the fob or key card... press on brake pedal... go in to "settings" (the gear icon) then vehicle/service then press the "shipping mode" radio button to bring it out of shipping mode. About 20 second procedure in all.
Yes you can drive in shipping mode, I only did that for a mile or two so I can't really tell you what was missing vs.. regular mode.

Don't know your shipping arrangement, but if it's going to sit in a container for days/weeks before going on the ship consider disconnecting the two 12v batts as that will literally stop vampire drain 99% as was noted by one of the members who shipped his Rivian to Germany. Once the vehicle arrives in Hawaii simply connect the two 12 volt batts at the same time and the vehicle will boot up as normal.

forgive me as I haven’t had a chance to read entire thread. Anyone else lose the truck picture / trip screen or did they move it? I only have 2 options on that screen now and couldn’t find truck mileage or trip a and b

Even worse, if you leave Settings on the About screen...it'll reload and default to the top Connect menu instead. So yet one more tap to get it to show again. Seriously...stupidest thing they've done recently. Really displeased about this one.

I went the ultra-cheap route to avoid having a cable running to a separate drive. I had a flash drive in there, turns out it was only 32gb, where the update now demands at least 128gb. This one is 1TB. Plus, it's a type C so no adapter needed.

LOVE the charging slider update in 1% increments. A bit annoyed why the needed to move the trip info deeper into the system. Glad to see my Car Wash Mode is back again.
Yes, anything over 128GB is sufficient. Yes, you need USB C.
Truck says minimum of 512, maximum of 2TB. I had a 128 and it didn't work.

Trying to decide if I want to record full driving sessions, or set it up with the 2 minute clips that are triggered by hard braking or an accident.

Probably the latter, but then I'll be pissed when I don't record the meteor explosion or other weird event that I'm absolutely sure will happen when I'm not recording.
If anything happens, just hit the horn for 1 full second and it will save the last two minutes of your drive. So no need to set it up for full drive. Just have to remember to touch the horn when something happens that you want a record of. I used my Tesla the same way.

Quick q— how are you all gonna use the charge percentage slider feature? In my use case 70 and 85 is good enough.

Also there’s a mileage discrepancy on the charger percentage— phone app says 221 for 70% and truck says 235 for 70%
I always charged my Tesla to the recommended high of 90%. Will do the same in the Rivian. Yes, only marginally higher than the 85% setting, but 5% is 5%. That's 5% fewer times I need to plug it in to charge as I'll have that little bit extra. Figured, Tesla is still saying, after 10+ years, that 90% is OK to charge to every time, so likely they haven't discovered any issues.

What I think I'll appreciate most is not being forced to charge all the way to 100% when I do actually need more range. Some say it's bad to charge that high and let it sit. My dad charged his Tesla to 100% every day for 3 years and his battery degradation was less than mine over the same period. With Rivian's vampire drain being what it is, it doesn't stay at 100% for very long anyway. But, now being able to charge to 98% at least gives me a little piece of mind in knowing that I'm not over-stuffing the battery. For road trips, 85% wasn't enough. 100% was previously the only other option. 95% is a good number for my road trips.
