My 2023 R1S Quad has plenty of power in conserve mode. There’s no need to turn all motors on to pass someone. Hopefully you will agree once your truck is fixed.

Your car isn't working correctly. There is nothing inherently wrong with Conserve mode. I'm sure it will be fixed under warranty, and if not you can take it back to the dealer - they did give you some kind of short term warranty right? Or did you buy it as-is?

When you take it into Rivian also have them look at any other issues you are experiencing. I recommend paying Rivian for the comprehensive inspection too. Rivian will also apply any outstanding customer satisfaction campaign fixes while it's there.

After a quick skim, I see no mention of battery %. It's possible for software to withhold power if certain parameters are met. But you would have received on-screen alert. Max power output is software-limited in Conserve. But not to the degree you describe. Vehicle needs service.

As for AT tires humming, that is a given and inherent nature of ATs. It's like knobby mountain bike tires vs beach cruiser or road bike tires with smooth tread. The large, non-continuous tread blocks make the tires not as smooth rolling. And the resulting vibration, and volume of air in the tire, creates the resonant hum. And tire manufacturers employ different solutions to counter it. Like, offsetting the tread blocks to resonate just out of phase—to cancel one another. Or, embed foam inserts in the construction of the tire to act as insulation or baffle. Some done more successfully than others. Some don't bother masking it.

What can I do in service mode? Change Speed limiter for conserve?
Right now I am pending ownership I am limited what I can on the app… I can’t even used the maps or set some basic setting .. maybe it has a bad software glitch? Already do the hard reset lost a lot settings now the outside temp doesn’t even work ..before I can’t connect wifi after reset works… now I can’t save radio stations or used the maps? Not sure it glitchy or I have to set as owner to do this stuff
I have a Gen1 R1T, I've also had...4? Model Xs. AP1 60D, AP2 75D, AP2.5 90D, and a 2022 Non Plaid. I also have a Kia EV9 GT, so hopefully this will help.

In Conserve mode, it is very similar to moving it into "Chill" It remaps the throttle so it's less responsive and limits power output quite a bit. If I'm going uphill, I don't notice any real struggle. If I'm trying to pass on the highway, it seems to do fine as long as I'm already carrying speed. If I had to compare it, it would feel most like the acceleration level in the AP1 60D.

It will not feel powerful and that's by design as you're trying to...conserve. But there is plenty of power to do what you need, it just does it slowly. The other thing to keep in mind is that it will feel less nimble, which will give you the impression it's the power output as well. The EV9 can kick you in the pants as it has a somewhat twitchy throttle, the Teslas are similar in that they hit hard then level off.

The Rivian has a go pedal that's much more open to modulation. It's good for one pedal driving, but combined with conserve mode it is significantly less twitchy and might seem unresponsive to you. It's all stuff you'll get used to and most who have been driving the truck for a while probably don't notice it anymore.

If you throw it in Sport mode, it'll be much more aggressive. Even in all purpose it's a bit subdued for me in terms of throttle response. But don't mistake that response/twitch with the lack of power. This thing has plenty of power even in conserve.

That said, some of your other symptoms would point to other issues. It's hard to say what exactly the problem is, but hopefully the above helps.

I haven't used it in 2 years, but it was enough power for normal driving. Conserve should strictly be used to get to the next charger on a long trip, if you can't use AP to make it.

Conserve mode should be called make things fair mode. It’s good for racing any ICE that’s not a supercar and for passing tough guys in trucks going up a mountain pass. Makes things slightly more interesting. Haven’t lost yet

It isn't just half the power it is a much much slower throttle response. This is designed to 'conserve' energy.

Coming from a Tesla, the Rivian will feel noisy. We, specifically my wife, have a 22 M3 and when we got our 1st Gen R1T, this is the first thing my wife noticed.
Opposite experience for us, save for the stock AT tires on 20” wheels. The pirelli’s were horribke. With those gone, sooo much quieter than my Tesla garbage road noise Model 3

Just guessing here but since you are in the ownership transfer period maybe it's in the demo mode. The service loaner's and demos are all neutered in demo mode. 80mph max. It should say 80mph max on dash if in demo mode so likely not the cause.

Got it figured out when I got it used they put new tires up front same brand pirellis scorpion 275 60 r20 the rears had 275 65 r20 .. I went ahead replace them all with Goodyear 275 60 r20 wrangle territories … so much smoother and quieter… also got them for 240 a piece a lot cheaper then the quote price of 1300 for 2 at Rivian scorpions
The tires fixed the problem

Ah, that's one key detail that was not divulged. Mismatched tires would for sure throw software out of whack.

Didn’t notice the tire difference until it was pointed out by the tech… seen the matching pirellis I thought it was good … I purchase it from a Mercedes dealership I figure they wouldn’t mess it up ..
