I thought the next update with chromecast was .50? (not .47) Wonder if this another release before the chromecast release rolls out...

I was thinking the same thing.

The .50 was a typo or error. The 4 week release cadence doesn't fall on week 50, but 43, 47, 51, etc.

Laugh at CarPlay, but google cast is an important feature? I can’t wait for google cast because I can then…. What can I do with google cast again?

Cast youtube, Formula 1 from the app, and much more but those are the two things I care for

Yep, it's very annoying given that the previous gen has had the functionality, I think, from the beginning? For those of us up north that pulled the trigger on a gen2, it's the first time I have felt some actual frustration with Rivian's planning since getting my truck in September.

Yep, it's very annoying given that the previous gen has had the functionality, I think, from the beginning? For those of us up north that pulled the trigger on a gen2, it's the first time I have felt some actual frustration with Rivian's planning since getting my truck in September.

Not the beginning, we got it in late 2023, or very early 2024 In gen1’s. It was a big part of the reason we bought another gen1 - as it massively improves the quality of life with a long regular commute in freezing temps, and will be sorely missed in the gen2 we pick up on Friday.

Go in the app, scroll down to climate and select it, then scroll to the very bottom. I am on Gen1 so you may still be correct, but check on your end because that would be an odd omission.

Yeah, it's unfortunately a known missing feature that supposedly will roll out soon, but feels ridiculous now that it's December, so anyone who bought a Gen2 is left without a basic feature that Tesla's have had for years and was an expectation at purchase. I take my 4y/o primarily in my truck, not ideal to have it freezing when he gets in every day.
