Not really. It's offloading the other factor to your phone. Yes, you need to have your phone but also need the something you know (phone PIN), or something you are (Phone biometric) in order to authenticate the drive.

Still just a PIN with more steps. Also assumes you have security enabled on your phone (not a terrible assumption, but an assumption nevertheless, and something outside of the control of Rivian developers).

Even with security on your phone, if you have text preview turned on (I do) you can see a temporary code on a locked phone if sent by text.

Yup, started rolling out around 1 PM. Unlike ElectraFi it shows up on Rivian Roamer when a vehicle is flagged, not installed. The fleet is also over 1,800 vehicles now.

No, this is a public rollout. It just starts off slow.

Today is exactly 4 weeks from the previous release, and exactly 8 weeks from the release before that, etc. So right on schedule, where the schedule is 4 weeks +/- a few days.

Just sayin', this is pretty predictable.
