Oh! Fantastic Idea! I would seriously use that ALL THE TIME! They should TOTALLY do that, it would instantly add so much more functionality and really round out the user experience!

Tried that - just did a soft reboot, yet is still renders worse than our 2015 Nissan Rogue. Had much smoother guidance lines with the old version. This is not an improvement.

REVISED: It's Google Maps that SUCKS. Used my Android phone to plot a course through that same cloverleaf. Got the same jagged lines.

Perhaps it is accounting for the Rivian alignment often mentioned on forums

Google Maps is great. Rivian auto-zoom layered on top is horrible. The system still automatically zooms in during an interchange, so far that you can’t see the map at the most critical time. Still a horrible experience and still leaving me to desire Apple CarPlay so I can use native Google Maps. If they fix this stupid auto zoom, or allow me to manually set my zoom level as an option; I will stop being a hater.

Curious if the G2 behaves differently than G1 on this. I’ve literally driven more than 20k miles on trips using the navigation on my G1 and have never had an issue with how the zoom behaves as I approach my destination.

Edit: I also do not use the map on the driver screen so curious if that might make a difference.

there’s an aftermarket accessory that enables CarPlay and Android auto on the Rivian main screen. It’s available for pre order

Have to agree that the auto zoom is highly suboptimal. Should be addressable with an OTA.
