Jose tried this in the attached video, it did not work.
Mine defaults to cooled seats every time. Someone said you need to go into the phone app and select the cooled seats and from their it will set that going forward on the car and that has worked for me consistently.

You shouldn’t have to set anything. It should automatically default to cool if the outside temps are hot and vice versa.

That's not what happens in my truck. 60% of the time is works as you said, but if is so random I have given up trying to figure out the logic.

There are three logical ways to do it, IMO.
1. Set it to cool if the AC is cooling, set it to heat if the AC is heating.
2. Set it to cool if the outside temp is higher than the set temp in the cabin. Heat if reverse.
3. Set it to what was set last time.

None of those is what happens for me. Whatever. It isn't really a big deal. Just an annoyance.

It would be great if a Rivian engineer would explain the auto seat temp logic. I can't figure it out.

Updated last night and everything went fine. Driving in this morning...and the Adaptive Cruise felt a little...aggressive. It seemed to be doing a little "Slinky" action, where it would fall back a bit, then accelerate quickly to catch up, then brake, then fall back again. Gen1 R1T.

This was on a 2-lane road w/ a few hills (going through the Manassas Battlefield, for any NoVA people), but a route I take 3-4 times a week. I don't recall it doing this before. It did give the usual "poor visibility, pay attention" warning at some point, but again...didn't notice this behavior Monday & Tuesday, and I had the same conditions & warnings.

I'll pay attention today on my drive home, see if it acts the same way on the interstate (usually take I-66 in the afternoon).
can confirm the slinky action. But not that bad. But noticeable for me.

what’s more downside for me is it’s hugging the apex of curves on highways and overshooting the turn now.. went over the line on exit of a turn a few times.

overall does feel more aggressive as driver, and is very liberal to get back on the throttle after braking. Or after lane change. Which I like so far.

I’m dubbing this update the “aggressive update” 🤣 driving at night, the adaptive highbeams were SO aggressive. On 80% of the time on the highway where it usually normally doesn’t turn on at all. I was a bit worried it might have been a bug. But it seems to be matrixing around cars properly.

I find it a bit more unstable, now. Can’t quite put my finger on exactly what it is. I did notice however, that the vehicle doesn’t hug the right side as much. Hopefully this will improve over time.

Got a link.
It's in the dual motor standard video he just posted. Doesn't really matter, we know it's at least in the internal beta update, so it's likely to be introduced in the September update at this point.

I updated yesterday and drove around a bit. I haven't noticed anything. IMO that's a good thing. Apple Music is working. NAV is working pretty well too. If this is all bug fixes then I'm happy thus far. I'd be cool if every other update was mostly bug fixes.

I've found the same. Haven't noticed any differences and overall things work, though going from app to app on vehicle start still lags much more than I would like.

This was my experience in the late winter/early spring where I was driving in the dark regularly. I don't think I've been driving in actual dark since May.

I love how the cooled/heated seats still aren’t fixed regarding knowing which setting to be automatic. It’s 106° here in Arizona and my truck is recommending the heated seats. How hard could it really be to fix this issue once and for all?
