Already have the performance package so really haven't been able to compare it to non-perf. Not interested in wearing our my tires with Sport, but have enjoyed a burst of speed avoiding the other occasional idiot on the freeway (pretty sure every Rivian has that).

I do use off-road and Soft Sand often enough and am keen to enjoy Rally on the local dunes soon.

If I didn't have it already I would probably be too cheap to upgrade.

R1T in 2023 ?
Has anyone been able to successfully purchase it?

I got updated yesterday but the option doesn’t show up to purchase whether in the car, the app or web.

I have a Gen 2 Dual Max Pack so totally eligible, although I’ve only had the vehicle for 43 days and read some posts suggesting it wouldn’t be available until after the first 60 days.

Chatted with support. They said it would show up ’soon’ but couldn’t say when or why.

So, anyone did upgrade?
Options doesn’t appear on mine too. At least, not yet.

I'd like to pay $250 to have it for a month to see how it impacts towing my cargo trailer.

Curious for those who buy the upgrade, does your range also increase? Or only the performance? I have the Standard+, range is 315. I had read it actually has the large battery which would be 352 miles range (why we are even gettting this offer). Thank you.

As a Gen 1 Standard+ owner as well, mine came with the performance upgrade configured as our battery is a software locked large pack. This wasn’t a range increase, only performance to add new drive modes. This is why those Standard+ owners without the performance upgrade are eligible.

I’m waiting to see what the cost will be to upgrade the pack. I believe it was a $4k difference last year so hopefully they stick to that for us. I’d be happy to swap to the new Goodyear Wrangler Territory’s to get the 350 mile range, but loving the 290 I get now on the Pirelli AT’s.

Thanks, good to know. I think I'm just going to hang tight and wait to see how this rollout plays out. I'd rather pay for the the additional range then performance, if that's an option. I plan to switch from the Pirelli's as well when it's time, right now only have about 8k on my tires.

I have that too… the rumor is that unlock is coming later this year.

That’s what I read as well. Curious to see if Rivian is using the performance upgrade as a starting point and then use a similar model for the range upgrade. Whether it’s a one-time purchase or an option for monthly subscription (Chosen by the customer).

I'm leasing but if I were buying I would probably do it for Rally Mode. The 1.1 sec improvement in 0-60 would be fun but not necessary, I can't really use the existing acceleration with my wife in the car anyway :(
Oh, yay! Rally Mode is included in the latest update for my Dual Max Gen2 R1T without needing to purchase the Performance upgrade! Awesome ?

You know, if they had released this a month earlier when there was 4 inches of snow everywhere, I think I would have immediately pulled the trigger… just because of rally mode!

It won’t. The extra performance is only is sport mode which gets disabled when you connect a trailer.
