Has anyone been able to successfully purchase it?

I got updated yesterday but the option doesn’t show up to purchase whether in the car, the app or web.

I have a Gen 2 Dual Max Pack so totally eligible, although I’ve only had the vehicle for 43 days and read some posts suggesting it wouldn’t be available until after the first 60 days.

Chatted with support. They said it would show up ’soon’ but couldn’t say when or why.

So, anyone did upgrade?

I haven't gotten the update yet, but my buddy with a Gen 1 with the update says that it's showing the upgrade for him. So maybe they are holding to the 60 day thing

I updated and think about upgrading but can’t pull the trigger. It’s available. Just a click away. I just can’t get over the guilt of “this is not necessary, I will probably never use this, the truck is plenty fast enough already…”

Thanks. I can’t find any info about the 60 day rule. Even chat didn’t know. Only place I saw it was a post here on the forums. Would love to see where Rivian officially says this is the policy.

I can see a point to the 60 day strategy if that indeed is a thing. If you want to move the performance version in your inventory, you want to somewhat incentivize it's initial purchase over a standard Dual Motor.

That’s a good point and likely the real reason for the 60 day.

That's true. People are more likely to get cold feet about the extra cost of purchase if they don't do it in the heat of the moment

Yep. Almost went for it but then decided to save the extra money at the last minute. Now I regret it and want to add the option and have to wait another two weeks. So the lesson for new buyers is get it at purchase if you want it. But if you don’t, there will always be the option to add it if you wait. But That strategy will maximize their revenue. Smart.

I am going to wait. I think they will do some incentives for this at some point, discounts, trial periods, etc.

I'm leasing but if I were buying I would probably do it for Rally Mode. The 1.1 sec improvement in 0-60 would be fun but not necessary, I can't really use the existing acceleration with my wife in the car anyway :(

Nice to know I can pull the trigger if I ever encounter a windfall, but it seems so discretionary at the moment that I can't make the justification.
Might make some strategic moves in the volatile stock market to see if I can "win" it in a sense.
We'll see what happens.

Sport mode is fun but realistically only used it twice. I have the all terrain tires, and I'll spin all four at the launch when I punch it. So I'm not the best use for those as I don't want to shred my tires. Hah. My next set I'll probably do more of a road tire. Hah
