36A or 48A home charging?

Is it any better or worse for the battery to charge slower (say, 36A/8Kwh max) or faster (48A/11Kwh max for my home charger)?

During the course of overnight charging, either speed will fill my battery.

Just wondering what those folks knowledgeable about this can share.

These charge current/voltages are a fraction of DC Fast Charge levels that can impact battery longevity over time.

None of the home charging options will impact your battery health in any way.

None of the home charging options will impact your battery health in any way.
The ONLY thing I would like to add, it's marginally better to AC (Level 2) charge your truck as fast as possible, versus slower/trickle charging it. I cannot find the post, but a University did a study on EV batteries (Tesla), and found in Level 1 vs Level 2, when using a 110v plug, it keeps the voltage high over a long period of time, which is worse than charging it, letting it sit, and then go to sleep as you'd do in a level 2.

That makes no sense. Once charging stops, the voltage stabilizes a few mV below the charging voltage. It will remain at that level until you drive it. The only issue is in the case of leaving it at 100% for a long period.

I say go with the 48A. That's the setting I have and have been charging it nightly. I keep the max charge percentage at 80%

So is the Rivian capable of L2 charging at the 19.2Kwh of some of the higher-end garage chargers, or is 11Kwh (48A) the max for it's on-board charger?

48 amps is max for the R1 series.

Charging slower likely uses more power as the truck stays powered up the whole time consuming overhead that's the same regardless of how fast you are charging.

I recently bought a Tesla home charger (my wife has a Tesla). Relatively inexpensive at $425.00.
I also bought a Tesla-tap mini adapter. On the same 50A circuit my charging rate went from 13 mph to 28mph charging. The Tesla-tap mini was pretty expensive for such a small device $340.00. but well worth it as it also lets me charge at any Tesla destination charger for free.
