Update - took it for a test run, worked great! Peak was 217 kwh (460 MPH) till nearly 50% SOC:
Overall was 30 kwh added in around 10 min for essentially 6 miles added per minute.
Making sure its charging via Tesla and not the Rivian account was the only minor annoyance, just have to confirm going thru Tesla's app.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Somehow A2Z made it after getting severely lost (eclipse was somehow involved), it apparently made a u-turn in Chicago, got to Pennsylvania and caught a flight to Cali, then turned right back around and flew back to Reading, PA where it lived it’s best life hitchhiking back to Cali, if this adapter could talk…

Here are the photos, my trip was last week so I’ll have to find an excuse to test it out…

Never mind the 12,500 km initial journey from Shenzhen to Montreal!

Mine was also briefly lost in transit via UPS.

Glad it made it for you even if not for your initial trip. I’m sure it will be valuable for plenty of other trips to come.

Just tried it, worked great!
Adding info above…
I'm also convinced that charging from 20% to 60%-65% is the sweet spot for roadtrips...gives ~2 hours drive time and then a ~15 min charge stop.

Ive never been so excited for a piece of plastic since I was a kid for Hannukah. Didnt realize how many stops these things take when going ground. Mine is on 7th stop in 2 days. Hasnt backtracked but has a long way from QC to SF, ETA for me is Tues. Excited to join the Bay Area Rivian group visit to see the R2 down in San Jose Saturday!

Were you guys able to change your shipping once they reached out to you? I think I just selected free shipping when I bought it, which I'm sure will be ground.

Our LECTRON Vortex NCCS adapter arrived today... Ordered six months ago. Plan to give it a try later this PM.

Please make sure your adapter doesn't have the locking mech issue.
Good advice. I have an original 240V 40A Tesla charger available and will test the latching mechanism before I go live with it. So far the Charger appears to be well made.
