Because my truck is white and most of my California plate is white, I wanted to installed right at the 6 sensor. This way only the numbers would stand out and lots of my friends had the same thought until my stick on plates came in. This dashed our hopes of not drilling into my R1T. Hope you have better luck.
EV Plates are not required in Colorado. I've got US Army plates on mine. You can get an EV sticker for the upper passenger side corner of your windshield as an alternative to the plate.
You are correct, but with the EV plates, you dont need the sticker... Rather not have the sticker.
The EV plate is NOT required for Colorado. You can get any CO plate you want and they give you a little sticker to put in the corner of your windshield that says EV. I don't think a single cop out there will care if you actually use the EV sticker or not. They have more important things to deal with anyway. I don't have mine on and don't think it will ever be an issue.
How has you sticker held up being there's a gap on the backing in one spot?Colorado requires a front plate, though plenty of people run without them. At work I like to back into a spot, but they scan license plates for permitting, so I've had warnings when I don't have a plate on the front. I didn't like the idea of drilling my bumper for the included mount, and wasn't super thrilled with the SnapPlate solution. Fortunately there are companies that will print a license plate replica on reflective vinyl. I went with https://adhesivereplica.com/ since they have Colorado, and I ordered the 11x5.5" version. I did the black "frame" without "screws". It arrived today and went on easily. We'll have to see how it does with the license plate reader at work, but I'm hopeful (not always a great strategy).
The standard sticker version doesn't really sit well on the front bumper. Because of the height, portions wrap the top and bottom. I would assume they modified their sizing to make it look better without rounding the edges?
The standard 12x6 from licenseplatewrap worked great for me. The numbers are pretty much exact hight of the bumper. Just align top edge the the seam between the bumper and the grill, and trim at the seam below the bumper with a razor blade. Only tricky bit is the left to right curvature of the bumper can lead to gathering on the top edge.
Maybe some gorilla double sided adhesive tape? Stick it to the plate and bumper. ?
It's either a EV plate or a EV sticker on the top right of the windshield.
