I run the Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3 and am happy, but if I had to do-over I'd probably go with the Defender LTX M/S 2. I got really good efficiency with the AS+3 but it's 115 instead of the Defender's 116 load index and there's drama there.
What size would you use with the Defenders? Just jumped on Tirerack and put in the 275/60/20 and it says they don't have that size?

Sold out in my area, but here is link from CostCo for the Defenders

https://tires.costco.com/Product?It...-m/s2&partno=13647&width=275&aspect=60&rim=20

Here is the warehouse model of the same tire

https://tires.costco.com/Product?It...a/s-2&partno=10593&width=275&aspect=60&rim=20

Not a CostCo share holder, but if your local CostCo has them in stock, I think it's worth the $60 (or whatever it is now) membership cost to get the tires. The membership fee is fully refundable so you could just get the tires and then get refund, but you lose out on the lifetime balance/rotation and road hazard warranty.

pheww. 21 pages, lol!! Worth it though :)

Upon securing the 2363 wheels (waiting for confirmation with pics), intention is to get dedicated winter tires. Would like to stick with 275 60R20 (to keep same diameter as my 21"), however, i cant find any with same specs - 116H load/speed rating. I dont think my local tire shop will knowingly install non-compliant load/speed rated on our R1S. Would love to install the:
Michellin X-ICE SUV = 115T
Nokian Hakka R5 SUV = 115R
Nitto Winter SN3 = 115H (last option)

Edit:
Any other recommendations? Or just have them mount the tires and I can install myself at home?
TPMS complications? Assuming I buy that will auto sync, should be good to go, so tire shop just installs TPMS and mounts?

115 is safe and came on many factory Rivians, albeit the current factory tire is 116. If you need a pic to convince your shop, I can dig one up.

If you aren't having the rims painted or they come painted already, correct, you just have the shop install TPMS and mount the tires.

TPMS wise, there's a set out there that doesn't require programming or cloning, so those are plug and play. If you get the ones I got, you have to clone them. It's easy and I can send you my clone machine straight from Kamino.

Be sure to get the hub centric rings and your shop knows to mount those first before the tires, or put them on yourself if you mount at home.

You could also go with a Firestone Destination X/T. The LT285/60R20 is 33.5” tall and 9.9” wide, it only weighs 51 lbs which is reasonable and is 125/122S. Will take an effiency hit of 5-10%.

If willing to go 115H, Continental Terraincontact H/T 275/60R20 is a good option (only 44 lbs). It’s a 33” tire and 8.9 inch wide. Cost is only $1,000 vs $1,500 for the X/T. Also is 70k tire, so it should last at least 35k miles…should be slightly more efficient too.

I brought in the rims with TPMS sensors installed (the Amazon option worked like a charm with no additional programing) and just had them mount the tires to the rim.

Those were discussed earlier in this thread. It is believed that the spokes are to thick to clear the caliper.

Ready for rubber!

Not perfect but for a winter set, it's def good enough for me! Was a bit windy while painting but I only had the one warm day to get it done.

Going to go on a FG R1T

Not sure if this has been reported in here yet but I put one on a home scale tonight just to see.

I saw various reman/second hand websites saying 38-41 pounds so 35 is a pleasant surprise?
