Alexa Can't Connect?

HI All,

All of a sudden tonight my car won't connect to use Alexa. I tried logging out but now Alexa is completely greyed out. Anyone else have this issue?

I’ve had this a couple times since the last update. Reboot of the infotainment (two outer buttons on the wheel) resolved it each time.

I rebooted plus disconnected and reconnected to wifi and now it seems to be back to working. So weird.

Just saw this after a hard reboot of my vehicle to see if that would solve my higher vampire drain. Need to wait 24 hrs to check if battery drain has improved. I’ll try above steps if Alexa is still not working.

My Alexa no longer responds and Tune In logged me out. Asking me to create an account again :-/

I was in the batch of users that got the latest update before they pulled it. My infotainment when dead. After the patch that they sent out everything appeared Fine. However, I did have to log back in to Tune-In Radio.

I’ve also had two other things happen for the first time:

1. Earlier in the week Alexa stopped working. I pulled over and did a soft reset, and it first didn’t look like that was going to fix it. After a few minutes going down the road. I got a, “Good Evening” greeting over the speakers from Alexa. After that, Alexa has been working.
2. Two days ago, I get in the truck and the camp speaker is connecting and disconnecting - over and over again. I pulled over to see what the issue was. I pulled out the camp speaker and it was on, trying to connect. My suspicion i that it was connecting, and then the Truck was taking back the bluetooth connection - over and over again. Turning the speaker off fixed the issue.

I must say that in a years worth of ownership, neither of these two things have ever happened before.

I am having the same issue. It seems to be an issue when I first get into the vehicle. It claims it can't connect to the internet. After 10-15 minutes, it connects. I never had this issue until the last update. btw, I was one of those owners that updated too quickly. I will try the Reboot of the infotainment. But it must be a new bug for some of us.

I've had it happen a couple of times. Nothing gets it back except waiting. It usually fixes itself after a couple of hours.

I’ve seen it a couple of times. I found rebooting the infotainment system and waiting 5 or so minutes resolves it.

I started having this issue with Alexa from last week. When I ask Alexa to do something, it would start to respond - I can hear the first few letters - and then disconnect. Calling, weather, car controls - nothing works at the moment. But if I ask Alexa whether it is connected, the answer is yes. I have tried ICE and car reset and the issue is still there.

Tonight I ran into this weird issue with my car's Alexa, too. Anyway, I tried the usual stuff - logged out, checked my internet connection, but no luck. Then I decided to give my car a little reboot and then went ahead and uninstalled/reinstalled the Alexa app. Surprisingly, it worked!
