I am not a lead foot and don't swerve in and out of traffic. I usually stick about 5mph over the posted speed limit.

I knew getting the R1T would be a rocket on wheels. We have had our R1T for about 3 months now and love it. For all that time we have been driving 90% of the time in CONSERVE mode since I drive a long distance to work.

Yesterday on the way home I stopped by my parent's house to say hi. My son lives with them and he wanted to take a drive in the R1T. So, I put it in All-Purpose mode and drove down the country road.....I mean......straight for miles, no hills, no dips, no houses......straight and no traffic. I know this road like the back of my hand seeing that I have been down it thousands of times.

I nailed the pedal and WOW....it threw me back into the seat and I literally felt the G-Force and it was like getting on a rollercoaster....it actually scared me for a few seconds.

I wouldn't recommend doing this unless you are on a drag strip or there is a pretty much-abandoned road. I won't be doing it again....I am 1 and done and I am happy driving my 70mph.

And just think, you haven't even tapped into all of the power available.
Now try putting it in Sport mode and launching it from a dead stop... ;)

?‍♂ I am here to be a bad influence and say that everyone SHOULD do this as long as you have access to a safe stretch of road. It's one of the best parts of owning an 835 hp EV.

In case anyone asks, yes I am the devil:devil:

I finally did this two weeks ago and was dizzy for 2 days.

YMMV, but you’ve been warned.

I'm truly impressed you've had the vehicle 3 months and have the mental fortitude to not have stomped the go-pedal once or twice in that time. I don't think I made it more than 30 feet out of the delivery center parking lot...

Everyone should do this with an ICE driver passenger, who thinks they have a "quick" car. Make sure you put some towels on your seat first, incase they piss themself.. :)

If you happen to take factory delivery there are some nice country roads right across from the factory……..

Agree. In a safe and controlled environment, everyone should push their cars/trucks to see how they react in certain situations. I grew up in Minnesota so every time it first snowed for the year, I'd go out to a parking lot and do donuts and such to remind myself where the limits of my car were.

That is great advice. I always do that here in CO as well. I'm glad Rivian finally added "snow mode" last year!

I might just do that when I am at my parents in a couple of weeks.

What is this "snow" you speak of? I am in CommieFornia and where we live we might get anywhere from a 1/2" to a few inches (we are at the 1400' mark). I am glad Rivian makes a remarkable vehicle for everyone's taste..... off-roader, drag racer, rock crawler, cruiser......this is truly a "1 size fits all" vehicle.

Keep an eye on your tire wear. Conserve gives you about 10% more range and being in that mode for most of your driving will eat up your tires quick. Make sure to rotate more regularly as well. Lots of threads on the subject.

We are only at about 3,500k on the tires. We will be rotating at probably 6k or 8k.....we don't know, I might start using All Purpose on my daily drive since I can charge for free at work.

Funny. I did this twice today alone! Do it almost ever time i have someone new in the R1T...right after i tell them to put their head against the headrest! Best 3 seconds of their lives!
