Anyone have issues with their R1T hood paint?

I have a Grey 2023 R1T with only 3k miles. It sits outside 50% of the time in California. Last time I washed it I noticed that there were "stains" embedded in the hood paint. They look to me like either hard water stains or perhaps tree droppings. Anyhow, can't seem to polish them out. They seem embedded in the clear coat. Anyone else with similar issues? Wondering if it is an issue with this Grey paint color?

Any pictures for comparison? Did you try a rubbing compound? I recently received a brand new black explorer at work and it sat in an uncovered parking lot for a 3 - 4 months before it was assigned to me. It also had some stains in the hood that wouldn't come out with hand rubbing a cleaner wax. I ended up firing up the DA with Mequires light rubbing compound and it all came out. Didn't do the whole car, so the hood is super smooth, while the rest is... well... factory.

I’ll get some pics. You have to look at it at an angle into a light source. I did try hand polish with no success. I’m a bit worried that a DA may take off too much clear coat?

Do you have PPF installed? I just had my R1T to the local XPEL shop for warranty work on the PPF and they had to polish the film to remove what looked like water spots.

No PPF yet though i think that may be my next step!

In my case the shop clay-barred the entire vehicle before applying film. Seems to have lessened the orange peel in the paint.

sounds like clear coat oxidation which can happen from bird droppings which are acidic. This will happen on any car. A little compound on a microfiber cloth will take it right out. Obviously clean the area well before doing anything, don’t want to rub dirt and grime in.
