I’ve seen a couple people with the same issue as me. Since the release of Apple Music, I’ve gone through 2 updates to 35.x and the issue persists. As soon as Spatial Audio is enabled in the settings, nothing will play. Of I toggle spatial audio OFF, then the music will play. I tried to make a service appointment but I live in the wonderful Bay Area where the next available appointment is January!

Has anyone else seen this issue and been able to resolve it on their own?

It's not you. The Apple Music app is still full of bugs, even on .35. It's rare that I get through a trip without it flaking out, and it often fails to resume playing when I get back in and hit play. There's really no need to put in a ticket for this.

Try signing out of Apple Music entirely from within the vehicle, doing a soft reboot (especially if it hangs on sign out as it did for me) and then sign in again. That resolved the issues for me.

I did that exactly and it stopped playing again but on the next drive played the whole time! App is buggy as hell! Doesn't seem to be a lot of QC at Rivian for software considering they are only making an app for two systems right now.

I’ve tried that a few times. Every time I got an update, sign out, sign in, and full screen reboot. Has never worked for me

Still buggy.....

Get in truck in am.....seems to think it has to reload everything from scratch....album art....playlists...

Get it up and running.....random stops that result in having to restart song.

Park at store....come back out....have to hit play again and restart track.

Not sure why it is still beginning this way....but it is.

I’ve done two master resets and one log off, still nothing.

Its strange to me because it doesn’t seem to effect certain audio systems or all people. There must be something that’s causing Spatial Audio to fail on our cars

I did a log out, and started a master reset just now. I'll log back in and try again. Guess I would also try a login with the wife's Apple login.

Previously I did a master reset, log out/in, reset again a day or two later. Then got the latest update but didn't reset or try anything else since then.

For me, it worked when it first showed up, but never for more than one drive without a reboot. It worked and sounded great with Spatial Audio, then just wouldn’t play after parking and restarting the car.

I tried again after this latest update, now it doesn’t work at all, just says “loading content” for a few minutes and then “unable to load content.”. Several reboots haven’t fixed it.

Tidal never worked for me from day one (March 2023) but it wasn’t important enough for me to pursue it.

I really like the audible app, which I use a lot and is now stable. Spotify works about 90% of the time as well.

So this is getting ridiculous. It’s been a couple months. I’m now on 2024.39 and every month the release notes says something about Apple Music bug fixes, yet these issues continue to persist.

Has anyone with this issue been able to resolve it yet?

At least you were able to play something with spatial audio turned off! For weeks I could not play anything at all, regardless if spatial audio was turned off. Updated to .43 tonight and everything is finally working again.
