Automatic Garage Door Open/Close?

Searched but couldn't find it but it appears Rivian doesn't have the auto open/close within a certain proxmity as Tesla has. What other work arounds are there that people are using or are you actually hitting the button every time you come home and leave?

Just hit the button for now. But if you run Home Assistant and have presence detection and a smart garage opener, I'm sure you could get something working.

Through Home Assistant using custom software on an ESP8266 microcontroller as the opener. The second half of that probably isn't required. I'd assume a smart garage door opener that is compatible with Alexa should work... But maybe it's just some lucky magic of the call going through Home Assistant.

Jeez, millions of drivers would be happy everyday if they hit the button and it works to open/close garage doors. I don't see a need to do anything else here. Tesla is Tesla. Tell it to support CarPlay/AA and see what happens!

Except for us it’s:
- try to jab at little garage door on the screen. Missed…ok, got it.
-try to jab at the correct door on the screen. Damn, missed & opened the middle one. Try to jab that one again to stop it, jab it again to close it, then finally jab the correct door.

…all while maneuvering down a windy driveway. There’s something to be said for tactile feedback.
