That is how G1 QM work...which I like the most. Let the driver select if they want the efficiency add of running around in wrong wheel drive for efficiency.I think it is AWD, unless you put it into conserve mode.
So, sport mode then?Anyone like me wish Rivian will have a all time AWD mode for all the DM R1?
Is there Sport on non-performance DM? Vaguely recall they don’t have it.So, sport mode then?
There are 3 modes only on non performance dual motors: All Purpose, All Terrain, and Snow.Is there Sport on non-performance DM? Vaguely recall they don’t have it.
I don’t mind the energy efficiency too much. I want full power all the time. What I don’t like is I paid for dual motors but I am getting a FWD SUV using single motor most of the time. I just wish Rivian can give us DM owners a choice.I don't mind it too much, it's kicks on the rear motor when it needs to. (I do wish that there was less of a delay occasionally, but for the most part I don't even notice)
Snow mode will keep it all wheel drive all the time which is important for snow driving. If you have a performance dual sport mode also is all wheel drive all the time.
For All purpose highway driving, I don't mind one bit. Lots of extra energy efficiency with the only trade-off being a slight delay in full power that I only occasionally notice
Sounds like you didn’t understand what you were getting yourself into. If you did, you would have gotten a Performance DM or QM. This one is on you. Rivian was clear on what modes are available for each of the drivetrains.I don’t mind the energy efficiency too much. I want full power all the time. Thanks. I tried it for a week and yes seems like it would be the workaround for now. Did yours always default back to Stability On every time you drive?I found that if you put it in reduced traction control setting that the rear motor is more active under normal to light acceleration. I don’t know if that actually makes any noticeable difference in traction or performance, but it is visible on the display.
Yes, I think so, but I did not pay close attention. I’m just letting it default to whatever Rivian coded it for. I don’t have a strong opinion about what would be “best” — I’ve only had the truck for 3 weeks, so I’m mostly just observing and learning at this point.Thanks. Hopefully Rivian will add a designated AWD mode for us in the future.
