I just got off a chat with Rivian CS about capabilities of the current lineup of the R1 given that the investor statement shared yesterday implied that vehicle to home and 800V architecture are still in development and are apparently tied to the release of their new in-house motor.

They stated that V2H charging is not currently supported but they hope to give updates in the future. They also stated that they do not have any information at this time about how current vehicles could support the 300+kWh charging that is advertised currently on their website. Previously they said it would be available via an OTA update. Looks like they are majorly backtracking.

I'm not surprised. Too much confusion of things Rivian will support in the future with things supported by the initial R1.

Rivian CS literally knows nothing beyond their script and maybe a slight ability to get more information on niche topics that isn't related to anything usable tech/spec wise.

Bless their hearts because its not on them for being in that situation but that is the reality of it. I rarely communicate with CS mainly because I know we know more here than they probably do.

FWIW anyways my 2 rubles of thought.

I wonder if they can answer questions that are obvious but not on the script.

"how many doors are there?"

"I don't know" isn't necessarily bad news.

Living in Michigan I think I'd prefer a heat-pump R1T. I bet CS can't tell me if I can get one of those either.

On another note, whatever SOB among you posted a script of last night's CC from Seeking Alpha, IT WAS THE 3Q REPORT from December. I couldn't figure out why everyone was so hard on RJ and company. Figured it out literally as I read the last word of the 15 page document. :CWL::CWL::headbang::headbang:
