I like it but I don’t use it much. The overall design is very nice; stashed out of the way in the car, ready to be pulled out whenever it’s needed, nice sound, built-in lantern. The Bluetooth issue raised by the OP is a bit annoying. I tried using the lantern for camping and it was better as a beacon than something to read or play cards by. Overall, I’m keeping mine.

Do you guys like the speaker? Is it worth the $$? I have a bunch of credits in the shop and have been contemplating getting one.
A storage drawer is far more useful than the camp speaker. If a speaker is what you want, there are plenty of more reliable ones (from audio brands even) that are more compact, cost less and have more balanced sound. The Rivian one is overpriced, finicky and too boomy/flat sounding.

I just unpair mine from my phone between trips and repair when I want to use it.

Camp speaker has been my office speaker for 2 out of almost three years of its existence. It's pretty decent quality and gets loud outdoors. Enough for a birthday day song in the backyard.

It takes a while to start and connect though.

I feel I’m in the minority, in that I use the camp speaker about once a week. I concur that it’s a bully. Regularly pushes me down and takes my lunch money. I have to make sure my phone “forgets” the device every time I’m done with it.

I find that the solution is to remove the Camp Speaker from the iPhone’s bluetooth connection list. Of course, then you have to add it back when you want to use it again. It’s annoying to have to do this, but it works.
THIS!
You have to 'forget' the device from your phone when you're done using it.
As others have noted, while well-intentioned, Rivian's execution of the speaker was a flop.
Actually, I use it more these days since I keep to the above advice!
Pretty minor gripe in the grand scheme of this vehicle's introduction.
Cheers!

The Camp Speaker is a disaster. I've had it replaced once already and still have the same random connection/disconnection issues, sometimes it charges in the dock, sometimes it doesn't, sometimes it locks, sometimes it doesn't.

I think it's decent when it's working. I've given up trying to use it on the road or from the truck. It's just my office speaker now and it works well for that. It also doesn't hijack my bluetooth like it did when it was in the truck so maybe it's not the speaker initiating the connection but the truck?

Exactly what the OP said.

I don’t understand how it is possible for it to frequently hijack and pair to my iPhone’s Bluetooth WHILE the speaker is DOCKED IN A PARKED & LOCKED TRUCK? What use case is there to allow it to even be powered on while docked? There a stereo for that. No wonder it is almost always dead when I want to use it. The speaker was off when I docked it. How is it now in and intercepting my audio, while my truck is locked and in a parking lot outside.

This is a disappointment. I have 10 year old Bluetooth speakers don’t need to be deleted/added back after each use.

This horse is dead sir.
Follow the advice given and move on with your life:
Remove from truck, unpair from (all) phones, charge using the USB-c input. Enjoy as a decent speaker / lantern, but ALWAYS unpair after use.
I installed the new drawer last year and find great joy in having a new, useful accessory 😁.
