Has anyone out there wanted to change their order after having already locked in their confirmation with their guide? I was fortunate to be contacted early on and scheduled for delivery in the next month but now that we are seeing all the colors in real life I'm thinking of switching. I contacted my guide and he said I can but that there would likely be a delay in my delivery if I do but he can't (or won't) tell me how long the delay might be. Really kind of frustrating, I'm not looking to game the system by finding the earliest color choice but don't want to be pushed to the end of the line if I change. Has anyone actually done this? If so what colors did you go from/to and what was the delay?? Many thanks to all!

I would think that if they have not started production on your vehicle, that changing color would not be such a big deal. Is the vehicle showing up in the Rivian app for you yet?

I was a bit surprised as well. No, my vehicle isn't in the Rivian app yet. I haven't even gotten to the process of officially ordering and paying for the vehicle. Just confirmed the configuration with the guide...

I asked CS the other day about when updating configuration might impact a change in delivery. They essentially said until contacted by a guide to lock everything in, update as much as you want. So this kind of jives in that since you've already been contacted by a guide it might have an impact, but hard to guess how much unless you can get more details.

So they told you would get the vehicle in Oct and you haven't been contacted about purchasing yet? hmm. I guess it's not a long process.

Have you just asked your guide? My understanding is that this is exactly the reason they created the role.

Not being judgy, genuinely curious.

You'll probably still get yours before mine. I haven't had a guide contact yet.

Yes, I asked him and he said he was unable to tell me before the change is official how it would alter my delivery. I think I believe him (though not 100% sure) - when you talk to your guide they don't tell you delivery estimate until after everything is locked in the computer. Perhaps they really have no idea how it will change until the computer spits out a date....??

Yes, they said usually contact will be 1-2 weeks before delivery to do payment/financing, insurance, etc. My delivery was quoted as by end of October so they still have 3+ weeks

Okay. Not sure if this is enough time to get your own loan for the vehicle. I'm assuming most will go through rivian financing and then secure their own after that? I've usually paid cash for my vehicles (all under $35k) or leased. So 80k is new for me.

I was going from El Cap to Launch Green - really liked the way the Launch green looks in the photos compared to the configurator renditions.
I do not see how that could change your delivery. During the tours they said that they could paint the cars whatever color they needed to with a 5 foot gap in the line. It is not like they have a large process to change the paint booths for different colors.

I would reach out to your guide and have him provide more information around why and how long a simple change like that would be. If they do not have the correct answer, they are supposed to be able to engage whatever resource they need to at Rivian to get the answer.

This is directly from the Guides page on their site;
"Rivian Guides have direct access to our entire team, enabling them to connect directly with the people designing, engineering and building the R1T and R1S."
