What type of outlet jack do you have on the generator?

the L14-30R has a dongle that plug in that has four 110v plugs (two to each 110v circuit)

so I have luck plugging in the ground bonding plug to one side of the 110v and using the other plug on that side but I can’t get the 220v to work with the 110 bonded.
