Are you actually doing this from an Apple device? All of the apps you listed only have an AirPlay option not a cast option. So the Rivian isn’t listed as an output option for any of them if you are using an Apple device. Casting basically only works for YouTube on any Apple device as far as I can tell.
Well you aren’t missing anything. I subscribe to a number of them and none work from an Apple device.
Right, that’s what I thought too and looked around for what I might be doing wrong. Plus quite disingenuous for them to say support for over 3000 Apps in their press release for it when it’s only for those with roids. Plus they had pitched it as one of the reasons for signing up for Connect+ that they’d support thousands of apps. None from Apple devices..

They clearly say for Roids in its support/settings.

Yeah that’s the problem, non of those are services I subscribe to and don’t have their apps. I dropped Amazon Prime a couple of years ago, after the last time they jacked the price and reduced the benefits completely tanking the value of Prime. Ads, slow delivery, and worse service than even during the pandemic.

Oh well, I was hopeful it would provide native support but it’s only for owners with Roids.
If you aren’t using any of those, what are you casting? This is a family friendly site.

Now that you mention it, it’s a Nokia. Ha ha!!!!!

Connect your iPhone to the hotspot in the vehicle and the apps will detect the Chromecast and the icon shows up right next to the AirPlay icon. It also shows up before you start individual videos. This picture shows it in the upper right before a video is started. If you start a video first you see this to the left of AirPlay. But connect first for it to show up.

Casting is only about video broadcasting. Anyone can use it, even Apple. Apple CarPlay, however, is more and more increasingly about total car UI control, and only via Apple’s methods

The Android note on there is specific to letting others control your media. iPhones work fine.

AppleTV+, occasionally Peacock (pay for the month during Olympics), and some YouTube. We used to also have Prime but it was never great and only gotten worse under Jassy. We also have free subscriptions through our public library.

The intro screen with QR Code also said Android Devices. Plus it seems I’m not the only one that can’t GooCast from iPhone. The only thing that works ok is YouTube but it’s easier to YouTube from iPhone or iPad; it’s a nice trick to use the main display but not the simplest way to get YouTube.

I was charging at EA yesterday while watching YouTube on the main display. I couldn’t do this before the latest update so that’s an improvement in my book. :like:

I tried casting a video on Prime, and it wasn’t having it. It started pumping the sound through, but then I got the spinny circle and it exited every time with some error asking me to try again.

My name is Mike, and I have a (car) problem
FWIW I just tried casting Prime Video from my iPhone and it was pretty much flawless.

Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV+ are a no-go as others have said.

I had some trouble the first time I tried it. Once I marked the hotspot as safe in my VPN it has worked flawlessly. So if you have a VPN, that’s something to try. But only Disney …. maybe Prime but I haven’t tried Prime. Netflix was stated by Rivian as not currently working and Apple+ doesn’t support casting.

Apple offers Apple Music/iTunes on Android and Windows. You can also initiate AirPlay video from Windows devices to Apple devices (Apple TV as an example).

The point is Rivian chose to appease only half of their customer base (assuming 50/50 Android to Apple split of Rivian owners - Volvo and many premium brands are actually >50% iOS) for the few times they might be parked and sitting in their cars while continuing to dodge CarPlay.

Hypocritical in deed, of those blindly ignoring a customer base that is larger than simply those that have an iPhone; iOS and macOS and its ecosystem is far greater user base.
Google cast works on every device, try again, Apple apologist.
