Strongly considering keeping my reservation solely to take full advantage of the 7 day/1000 mile money-back guarantee. Expect 999 hard miles on the ODO when I return it.

I'm spiteful, and Rivian did us real dirty.
I just have 4 words for you: Mount Evans Scenic Byway
Make those 999 miles count.

I have my first mile scheduled tomorrow in Denver. I'll post photos.
Nice! Enjoy your drive and remember you can leave your pitchfork and lantern at home now. Look forward to hearing about your experience.

I don't plan on being too hard on them. I did have one foot out the door with a polestar but now for an extra 10-15k rather than an extra 30-35k, the choice is simple and that is to wait for the truck.

Right. It was never those customer service reps or the people at the service centers fault anyway. The other day I said to myself multiple times I was glad I didn’t work in Rivian CS right now. That was a rough couple days…

I actually placed a order for Polestar 2 this morning. Still have my R1S reservation (delivery date: 1st half of 2023). Polestar 2 will be here by the end of March this year. So actually very SOON, just not to be confused with "Rivian s∞N". WE will capitalize the $7.5k + $2.5k Tax rebate before trade it in when we pick up R1s next year.

I am pondering this. Do I still pull the trigger on the polestar and get one year of depreciation and also tax credit, then trade/sell it next year when I presumably take delivery?

This is a company car/expense FWIW.

Used car market in Denver is pretty hot right now. I doubt we will lose any money... my friend at HM Brown told me on Monday that a year old Toyota RAV4 Prime sold $2500 above MSRP last month.
But please don't take my words for it...

I'm glad I didn't cancel my order right away. Now I can avoid any potential aggravation that would come from restoring my reservation.

That said, Rivian really did kick my trust level where it hurts. I'm keeping a wary eye on them at this point. I don't think they deserve anyone being a fanboy at this point.

I encountered a silver R1T on I-70 this morning. followed it for a few minutes and it had CO temp tags. Whoever owns it took delivery about a week ago. First LA Silver one I've seen in person, aside from one that might have been silver but at night I couldn't tell for sure. I think that's my color if Limestone doesn't work out.

No first mile invite yet for me... But there seems to be little logic to their invites. While I've been able to ride in my friend's and check it over, I'd still like a lengthy test drive of my own and another good look at it. Wouldn't mind it if my first mile invite comes a few months from now and they'll have an R1S available too.

It's insane here right now. I just sold a '17 Mini Clubman S All4 (a real nice one) to CarMax for $3500 less than I paid for it almost 6 years ago. Ordering a new vehicle is the way to go if you can stomach the 2 to 6 month wait periods as most good dealerships are still selling custom orders at MSRP or even a bit under. Just walking onto the lot, they'll put you through the ringer, figuring you're desperate. Hardly any lot inventory to look at anyway.

Exactly! Went to Audi Denver last weekend to test drive a E-Tron. Not liking it much as there is no regen function, so one pedal driving is not feasible. Every car on the dealer showroom floor is used! They desperately wants every car they can get just to survive as there is no new car coming in at all.

Rivian R1T R1S Colorado Checking In 2D721977-2BAA-4396-BE91-4ABA333297FE

fourteen trucks at the service center this evening. Here are a few. Must be quite a few deliveries going out.
And for what it’s worth, I’m getting 38k offer for our ID4 that we bought last year (40k msrp-10k tax credits). currently feeling like a good decision to check out the EV life.

Two weeks ago that entire lot was empty, except for a couple of parked flat bed delivery trucks. This is a good sign! The only thing that could be better would be an additional row of R1Ss. Thanks for posting the photo, Andy.

According to someone on Facebook, the Denver test drives have been indefinitely postponed. No reason given. Congrats to anyone that was able to get in on one.
