I was plugged into a 200kW Petro Canada station in Golden BC this summer. I was nearly complete my charge to 90% I think, when the truck stopped charging and immediately came up with the dreaded critical battery error, and the chimes.... Being that I was half way into my road trip, wife and newborn in tow, I wasn't having any of it.
Initial response was "cool." I try drive and reverse, no dice. I look at my wife, she's looking at me like "wtf" so I calmly do a hard reset. The reset started, but that chime was the last thing to shut off during the reboot, which was disconcerting.
Reboot sequence completed and the error was gone. Everything functioned correctly so I knelt down on the ground, thanked the Rivian gods, and carried on with the road trip.
I was definitely crossing my fingers when I plugged in the next time, but since that day, I haven't had an error or fault. So I've since attributed it to a software gremlin that gave some bad data.
