I'm on day 8 of owning an R1S in Denver and unable to drive the vehicle due to error "Battery depleted - Charge up and try again"
The vehicle is reporting 71% battery level (200 mi).
After doing a full vehicle reset, I was able to shift into Drive. But trying again after a couple hours I got the same battery depleted error.
Charging was interrupted by a failure last night, and I was unable to get it to charge more. After letting the vehicle rest for a while, it said it was charging successfully, but at a rate of 0mi/hr. After a while it will error out again. I also have a "System fault detected - performance limited" error and a combo ("Vehicle battery issue - service SUV soon"/"Park brake system fault") error. It's a combo because on the steering wheel dash it says the battery issue message, but on the main screen says park brake system fault with the same battery icon (??).
The Service reps have a tow scheduled for me. Fortunately I already have a SC appointment scheduled for a very minor air compressor issue.
I'm pretty bummed, especially because my 4 year old was stoked (as I was) to go camping this weekend.
I had the opportunity to spend two days on some forest roads - absolutely loving the vehicle (our first time owning an off-road vehicle, but 3rd EV). Despite loving the R1S, if this had happened two days ago I likely would have just returned it. Having two little kids, I can't afford the mental toll of an unreliable (and expensive) vehicle. A little bummed, but hoping the SC can get this issue fixed up and I can join the many people who say "had some issues after delivery, but all good now"!
I mostly am sharing this experience in an attempt to contribute to any data-tracking of the types of post-delivery failures (would love if something like the Owners List was organized for that), but....
Does anyone have experience with trying to get any form of compensation/swag/gear discounts/free gear for having post-delivery issues?
Thanks for listening!
