My R1S delivery delayed from Oct 2023 to Jan 2024. I reserved my R1S on Nov 2021. I heard it’s because the people who paid more AFTER the price increase got bumped up ahead of the owners that were priced locked in at the original prices. If this is the case, that is NOT cool. Anyone heard this also? Great, deliver the EVs to the ones who supported you later.

That's not the case, you'll have to find some other reason to blame the delay.

Nov 2021 preorder holder here! My window has remained static for October-December 2023. So not everyone was moved.

They are prioritizing people living close to SC. If you know someone who got is quickly, check if it's the same location, config etc.

I got mine with old pricing, 1 year after order date.

Also there's strong speculation that they are trying to avoid overwhelming the SCs (which also perform pre-delivery inspections), so even if you are within 5 miles of an SC, you might get "bumped" if there's a lot of deliveries within that area.

Not true. Very sorry but that's not the reason for delays.

This has been discussed ad nauseum here, there are tons of threads about it. People are angry and make up reasons to be angry - this is a popular one that’s unfounded. Here’s another perspective - be angry at yourself for waiting too long to place your order?

That's not the reason. Drink some cold beers and switch your reservation to R1T if you want to move up the list.

This advice worked for me. I'm 3 weeks out instead of a year.

Switching to a T wasn't so hard mentally, either. Here's how I reasoned it...Consider, it will take them another year to figure out how to dampen the compressor sound inside the cabin of the S, and the shorter wheelbase makes for bumpier on-road ride. The body fit and finish is not up there either, which will take more time to get right. True, the tonneau cover issues of the T make for less dry storage, but that will be solved with the manual tonneau coming out shortly. You need to get out of the mindset that you need a traditional SUV, or can't be seen in a pick up -- Think outside the box. :)

Don't complain. I am over four years out since original deposit and don't even have a delivery date. It all seems to depend on where you are located.
