Does a Higher State of Charge Improve 12v Efficiency?

I charge from solar and have recently had excess capacity so I have been charging to 85%. I have noticed that my R1 sleeps for 8+ hours. Is there any truth to this or purely coincidental?

There should be no correlation between 12v state and HV state. Nobody here can know whether Rivian specifically chose to do something weird in their software. But it's unlikely. The converter that turns 400v into 12v charging would regulate the output so the input doesn't matter. Physically there's no difference.
