Does anyone else hate Gary?

I agree, it is embarrassing. I recall seeing something recently claiming that half of Rivian's employees think it is stupid.

What you're recalling is that half the team at Rivian aren't huge fans of the Gary badging on the new quad according to this post. But you can also remove it so it seems like a non-issue and nothing to be embarrassed about.

Sorry, I meant the badging. Who is making fun of you for having a cartoon sasquatch in your vehicle on maybe three screens, most of which you don't see during a drive? I only see Gary as my vehicle is waking up and that's it. Out of sight, out of mind. ?‍

I certainly wouldn't say fart mode and Gary are anywhere near the same level of cringe but hey, that's your opinion. Again, you never really see Gary.

I love the concept of Gear Guard, but I hate Gary. The whole cartoonish thing going on with Rivian lately has gotten worse over time. First it was just a terrible depiction of Gary (what is he exactly anyway?) that looks like it was drawn by a 5-year-old with Crayons. And now we're going to soon see Gary emblems on the back of some Rivians. I don't think Gary is cute or fun or playful or whatever Rivian is trying to convey with the whole Gary monster idea. It just takes away from the high tech image of the vehicle/company. That said, I'm also not a fan of the new cartoonish looking UI that Rivian moved towards, even though Rivian is seemingly so proud of their new interface.

Tell that to my daughter

I love that Rivian has used Gary the way they have, as an example, while waiting for a ferry, my daughter was exploring the back of the truck and tapped the locked rear screen. She immediately started giggling away when Gary would do the little peakaboos, that's one of the things I love about the brand, they don't hum drum the vehicle with serious overcompensating crap, and instead can have some fun with things while still burying the bros in dust.

I love the Gary decal on the new quad package, as well as the Gary superman style swipe to launch. It's fun, but tasteful and again speaks to the brands approachability.

Also, nearly pulled off a Gary Outfit, but ended up with more of Weekend at Bernie's vibe!
