I took delivery of a 2025 R1S Dual Standard at the end of April. Overall, despite a handful of quality control issues that I’m still working with service to resolve, I love it.

One design decision that has bothered me since day one is how limited the functionality is for the driver display. I’m 6’6”, and if I have my seat and steering wheel set in comfortable positions, basically anything that’s not in the center of the display is blocked by the wheel. For example, I can never see the speed limit indicator at the top center of the screen.

It would be great if Rivian either more centrally aligned important information, or allowed drivers to move elements around to better suit them.

Same situation for me. I would love it if the side view camera would show directly in the center of the screen, or on the main screen so I can get a quick glance.

Putting the side view in each corner means I can’t really use the cameras, so I look over my shoulder.

They said a revamped cluster display is coming this year
Can't come soon enough. The new energy is app is cool, but idk why that was prioritized over a more functional cluster that is literally right in front of you and you see all the time. So much screen real estate used so poorly.

I agree, I would like to be able to change it like you can on my wife’s BMW. You can make that display pretty much anything you want information wise.

Somehow it seems to be arranged in a way that no matter what height you are, the parts of the display you need most are obstructed. I don’t know how they managed that

Leased an R1S Gen 2 in May 2025. I'm 6' 3" and I can barely see all the drivers display with the steering wheel put it its highest position. The steering wheel in that position feels like driving a 60's or 70's Alfa Romeo, which if you know, you know. I hadn't heard that an updated cluster display is in development, that's good news IMHO. The current display isn't that bad, but it could be a LOT better I think. I'd like to see customizable fonts, and options for different/additional information content that can be moved around. Its only software.

I vote for the ability to absorb some of the white/empty space near the bottom to be able to increase font sizes for things like battery charge, etc. There's a whole demographic out there who's about 45+ who need a little help with small fonts, but can see fine at a distance.

I’d take a nice analog clock (keeps GenZ’esr from borrowing it) where that ever-so-handy display of cars three rows ahead are displayed. They are clearly displayed elsewhere…the windshield. Even the lowly GM has customer-customizable displays

A real odometer or trip meter along with the range "guess-o-meter".

Early on, I had this problem with the steering wheel blocking part of the display and there wasn’t sufficient range of adjustment to cure the problem. Then, I found there is a way to recalibrate the steering wheel settings. That changed everything. Now, it’s fine. This option is available somewhere in the settings menu. Might be worth a look.

Edit: Go into Settings and to the Service section. You can scroll down to an option to recalibrate the seat and/or the steering wheel. By recalibrating the steering wheel, it should expand the range of adjustment for the wheel. As a 6’ driver, this did wonders for me.

That's what the camera focused on the driver was for - helping them find the least usable set up for the driver. ;)

Someone above mentioned an analog clock. But I think a small digital clock (I know that there is one on the main display, but I find it difficult to look all the way over to the right when there is plenty of room on the driver display, for easier access.

Im just shy of 3 years of ownership. Love my r1t, but I’ve complained from day one that the clock is a full arm+ length away from the drivers POV. Ive asked so many times for this to be moved to left of the center display and/or bottom center of the cluster. Yes, you can look at your watch, but a) this is more time away from driving and b) many of the younger generation don’t wear a watch.
