So don't use Driver + going downhill.......got it! how about "simple" cruise control??
Same thing. It's not just down hill, it's any time the vehicle needs to slow you down while you're in any kind of cruise control mode, so if a car is in front of you, if you go down hill, if you lower the set speed because the speed limit changed, etc.

I was testing with "simple" cruise control because you can't actually use Driver+ on random neighborhood streets haha.

wow, this would be pretty bad.... We'd have to get break pads/rotor replacement which I never had to do with any of my teslas.

By the way, with the new update where can I find this break regen assist setting?

I posted this on Reddit about a month ago. Nobody believed me.

Cruising on a flat highway following a car the display will show yellow (formally blue) and the brake pedal will move and slow you down.

It's using the friction brakes to adjust speed while simultaneously applying power. I felt it many times while on a trip.

As a result I try not to follow cars within the following distance I'll either pass them or shut cruise off because there is no "regular" cruise available that just maintains a damn speed... My biggest gripe with the vehicle.

It does actually have dumb cruise control, but only when towing.

Yes then it's really dumb. No Blindspot monitoring even!

Just noticed this too. When using driver + with brake assist off. Put my foot under the brake pedal and I could feel the brakes being applied anytime there was a change in speed. I will not use drivers + unless I really have to. Now I need to check my brake pads when rotating my tires.

Ugh. I feel our pain about this should be communicated to the manufacturer.

Not enough meaning a sudden braking scenario....
No, it blends in braking for sure. It’s why the rear brakes wear out faster than the fronts.

This sounds pretty lousy. It has the potential to significantly reduce range in hilly areas.
