Haha - That's hilarious. Will be even worse when the Bronco Raptor arrives.

The Rivian sales experience has been a rocky road, but not having to deal with local car dealers is still a good thing.

You know the worst part isn't even the $69K+ of ADM. It's that, on top of that, they have the audacity to force the ? paint sealant/interior protection garbage that they otherwise would try and add at the end of the transaction on any vehicle. ? that is worth $50 at most and that they are forcibly charging $1,500 for.

This is is the pinnacle of greed and exactly why I will not miss dealerships when they are gone.

Ford Says $69,554 Markup to F-150 Lightning Was an Error

wasn't removed fast enough to prevent Karens being Karens.

This isn’t the first instance I’ve seen where the dealer added the ADM at the last min.

4000 miles could be put on in a week if you were really dedicated to flip it.

Sadly, a very common practice, especially in the sports car world.

I did hear rumors of Ford potentially changing the sale process to online order. But it has the potential of dealers suing Ford themselves. Maybe for EV only, not sure. I'm not sure how they can get past state law though.

Such an antiquated system. Why have middle men?

YMMV... yesterday I offered to pay an ADM if it spend up delivery and my dealer contact was appalled with me.

I have a hard time being angry about this. If they ordered it and they currently own it and someone is willing to pay that, then that is the market value. If you don't want to pay that for it, then don't. Right now, someone probably will, and that person should be parted with their money if they so desire.

What pisses me off is when you order it at a price, and it shows up and they won't sell it to you at that price. That's a dick move and should be dealt with.

Ford CEO says they are moving to a fixed price model... I'll be curious to see how that will work.
