Same here. Traded my '22 R1T for a Silverado EV Trail Boss. Favorite vehicle so far. I loved my Rivian but like the OP got tired of the noises, clanks, HVAC floods and having to wait 2 months for service. This forum has completely turned south over the past 3 years with haters. Be happy someone found a vehicle they like and it's an EV. Get over it.
Thank you for making it all okay again in the forums with your post. I'm over it now.

I'm not in here to promote Volvo's and dis Rivians, but the over the top cheer leading on here and trying to cancel people who have different views is absurdly immature. I was on a Rivian wait list for 2-3 years before launch and owned a low VIN R1T for 3.5 years. I still have more invested in Rivian stock than most. Rivians software had as many problems as Volvo with their EX90 their first launch year, including mine. I'm not going to bash Rivian here because it was a great truck.
I'm not canceling anyone, or cheering for the downfall of Volvo. I am bummed out that they absolutely botched the launch of the ex90 software. It was/is a disaster. And no, Rivian's software has never been as bad as the EX90s was. Rivian has had plenty of growing pains, I've made plenty of waves about it. But Volvo has a new CEO in large part because of the EX90's launch.

You had a lemon R1. That sucks. Hopefully your EX90 treads you well going forward.

I didn't have a lemon R1, what a joke. So many people are still having problems with their Rivians, have you actually been following anything on this forum for the last 4 years? Every EV except Tesla has frequent issues still these days... BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Volkswagen, even the Sprectre.

Honest question, why are you here? You no longer own a Rivian, and have no intention on buying a Rivian in the near future. Isn’t there a Volvo forum? Why would you want to discuss a vehicle that has “tons of problems” that you don’t even own anymore?

You got rid of your car because it no longer served your needs as good as something else, correct? Why keep rehashing your subpar experience? I had a Ford Explorer ST once that I only kept 6 months because I disliked it so much. I don’t go on the Explorer forum and talk about how their software is laggy dog shit and the car has mediocre performance.

The reason I don’t do this is no one there wants to hear it. Sure, I’m a former owner so my opinion is valid too but I’m not adding anything to the community there by causing problems.

Ohh, I could join that discussion - I had an F-150 in early 2022 for 4 months before I got my R1T! 😆

I know you think you're being clever but this forum has a significant number of users who are hired by investment companies shorting Rivian. Hence why the stock hasn't moved much in years. They manipulate the stock up and down, taking your money each time. And they manipulate this forum by overly attacking or pumping on responses according to where they want the stock to move.

I was on the forum Rivian Stories for the first few years until they slowed down. This forum has always been too social media ish for me, not real owners or even potential owners often.
Wait till you find out who pays me to be here.

Ahem...

In 2025, Tesla issued several recalls, including a voluntary recall for certain Model 3 and Model Y vehicles due to battery pack contactor issues that could cause a sudden loss of propulsion. Owners can check if their vehicle is affected by using the Tesla VIN Recall Search tool.

To be clear, I'm not saying Tesla is terrible, nor am I saying Rivians don't have issues. I'm just responding to the BS comment that "Every EV except Tesla has frequent issues still these days".

Not as bad as my Polestar 2's software at the start either. I gave up on the phone-as-key after about two weeks when it refused to unlock for me. It was at home, so I was exceptionally lucky in that regard.

A few times well after that, I accidentally drove to work without a key. I'd have to do the same thing I had to do for Rivian a few years back and turn Bluetooth off and back on, and it'd work again.

I bought the P2 back in October '21 because GM bought my Bolt EV back after the battery fiasco, and I needed another EV again. I ended up trading it in for my Sierra EV. I still miss some things about the P2, but the software is not one of them (now that Rivian has a larger version of the map in the main driver's display at least)

Thanks for posting this! I've had the Explorer ST on my short list a few times - it looks decent and a good package but always wonder what daily driving is like.

OP - good luck with the Chevy. At least it's another EV. We don't need more OEMs cancellations.
