I bought this and it doesn't work out too well. The clips that supposed to hold up the shade don't hold it up very well and feel super unstable. Did not even attempt to drive with it. I think the Evsports one with the magnet would work better.
I just received the EvSportline sunshade in the mail. It is more of a heavy mesh that should block most of the light, but it isn't a solid sun blocker. I should have my R1S back from service later this week, so I'll post up some photos when I install it.

Wait, the EVSPortline shows the shade with BlackOut reflector. They did not ship you that?

I have it installed in my R1S with the reflective layer and you can still see the sun through it but everything else is blocked. I can attest that it fitted perfectly and worked great over the weekend when it was almost 100 in Atlanta.

You are 100% correct. I just noticed it at the bottom of the storage bag in a separate zip loc bag. Since my R1S is in service jail, I didn't completely pull the shade out of the bag. I ordered it so long ago, I forgot what I ordered.

I bought the Hanshow version, looks the same. Was tough to get in with one pets, doesn’t sag, but also blocks 100% of light. It is not a mesh type commonly found for Teslas.
Hey- I’m the HI guy who bought Hanshow version like I think you did. I think it materially reduced interior heat, was easy to install and doesn’t sag a bit as presently. Any idea why some guys on thread think the 4x4 Electri shade would be worth waiting for? One thread comment said both are probably made by same China factory- highly likely.

I’d stay stick with what you have if you are happy. I’m actually interested in a mesh type roof shade that lets some light filter in.

The EVsportline will fit that bill. The shiny second layer is removable. Without it, the shade is a mesh type.

Hello folks, sorry for the delay, I’ve been out for a while.

TL;DR I returned my sunshade since it’s still not completely blocking the heat (enough to still cause headaches).

My take - these work, but not perfectly. I’ve ordered 2 or3 of them from Amazon and all of them seem to be the same shiny mesh, from which light and heat get through. They’re just the same, rebranded and sold by different sellers. I noticed mine had fitting issues as well. So, just returned everything. I’m going to try the EV sportline one since it has the reflector. But, ad of now, since summer is almost over, leaving the top naked (my passengers love it this way as well)

Maybe consider a ceramic tint. Those can be great for heat and UV rejection and still let you enjoy the view.

Does anyone know of a black out type sunshade for the R1S. I want to block the sun out completely. Thanks in advance.

I'd like to hear what others have experienced with ceramic on/in the roof. I've heard different options such as great and also it could trap heat and damage the glass.
