With autopilot engaged. Steering weight kept the nanny from speaking up too much and was able to enjoy a few activities on the way that made the time pass by quickly.
Boring, I've heard how this one ends already.

I hope not. Will be one of the worst things they can do. At $90,000+, they're already too pricey. A small 1% raise of $1,000 would do far more harm than good.

I truly wish Rivian would hire someone with public company experience to guide them on their decisions and how each of those decisions impact their stock value. It's not just about one person, they need to see the big picture and anticipate what each decision and/or public announcement will have on its investors.
I disagree. For example, it would make sense to keep dual motor prices the same, but increase the price of quad motors. It would create more premium pricing for quad configs for people who want them and encourage more people to get the dual (enhanced) motors, which have better margins.

I'd put down more cash if they sold a power upgrade for the quads. They probably didn't leave anything on the table though.

I probably would too even though the truck doesn't need it. Add in the Owl sound and I'm in for sure.

Count me in on this, too. $5k for a 100hp increase. And I'd also pay for a suspension noise whisperer....

Just 5 hp more motor? ? that adds up to 20 hp bump!
Polestar 2 was $1200 for another 50kW and a sharper tip-in when you're at speed. Feels like it hits harder than the Rivian does now at 40+ but it doesn't stay that way.

$5K is a good amount! Hope Rivian is watching this thread lol
I decided I want the instrument panel to go into a racy looking mode too, included for the $5k. I would love the speed in center in this mode, battery cooling system temps, and torque at each wheel.

And then the door lighting all goes red, too.

And lock/unlock chirp sound like Tron Lightcycles...

I’m sure they can make Tron outside noises too, if they get the rights too haha

I put down my preorder deposit during the Lightning launch event. I wanted a $40,000 Pro.

I haven't been able to order a Pro at any point, and the Pro now starts at $60,000. I would have accepted an XLT Extended Range, but by the time I could place an order (November 2022,) it was over $80k, therefore ineligible for the tax credit. (And the XLT sold out within a day of my order window opening.)

Meanwhile, my $78k (as configured) Rivian delivered last August.

My original plan had been to take possession of both, then decide if the Rivian was worth the extra money over the Ford.

Now, to get an "equivalent towing performance" Lightning would cost nearly $10,000 *MORE* than my Rivian cost me. For a cloth interior and no self driving. I'd have to step up to the Lariat at $92k as I'd actually want it configured. Now we're at nearly $20,000 more (counting tax credit that I got for the Rivian but can't get on the Lightning now.)

I received the order email today (delivery would have been June) and I've officially cancelled......

I am betting that Tesla will make the CT the value leader, and underprice everyone. With its spartan interior, lack of paint and lack of complexity, it is possible.

Still gonna keep the R1T, but that's my guess.

I finally got the email today as well. Way back in the dark ages when I placed my reservation the Ford fanboys thought I was crazy for pointing out the “expensive“ Rivian was less expensive than a truly comparable Lightning. Now with all the price increases a 312A small battery XLT is within a few hundred dollars of my substantially better specced R1T. It’s laughable. The only benefit would be to continue to play the tax credit game but that feels like a losing path with an old tech Lightning and the GM & Ram trucks coming.

If I go ahead with the Lightning order it will be to likely walk away and gift my dealer with one to sell.

Oh…I forgot the one big benefit to Lightning ownership vs Rivian. Anonymity! No one will follow you through a parking lot to ask questions about your truck when it looks exactly like all the other F150s. ?
