Francis Energy location charging issues?

Is anyone else having issues charging at Francis Energy locations? Recently they have all been giving me communication failed errors. I do not have this problem on other networks. I have the problem now with all Francis Energy locations.

I just drove through Oklahoma and went out of my way to avoid Francis Energy chargers because of the poor reviews on Plug Share. I dont think it is just you.

Following up on this. My truck will still not charge at all on the Francis energy network. No issues with EA, Chargepoint, or Freewire. Has anyone successfully initiated a charge with Francis this month? I've got a service ticket in with Rivian but no success yet.

I have seen that error at the site I use. It would not accept my credit card or the RFID card that they mailed me. But the app on my phone still worked just fine. It is worth noting that there are two where I charge and only one of them had the error. So Try the app and try other chargers if there are any. I found that they don't charge at rated speed but they have worked well overall.
I also have seen communication errors at other chargers where the app was able to let me charge. I am guessing that they are using my phones connection to the internet.

Hmm. Good to know yours works. I've tried the app, RFID card,credit card and having them just push the charge remotely. Same issue at all sites. Rivian wants my truck at the service center to further investigate.

For what it's worth, they are going to give me a loaner or rental for the duration of their investigation but I need to get the car to them.

Ford would definitely not give me a loaner or rental if I had a lightning.

I charged at a Francis station in Nevada, MO for the first time on 7/11. I had to sign up in the app to initiate the charge. Signing up was lengthy, but initiating the charger worked for me. I wish the chargers would accept direct CC payments instead of having to go through their half baked app.

A few weeks ago I drove from Joplin down to OKC and back pulling a camper and charged at many Francis energy locations without issue. I did skip one based on PlugShare reviews though.

We drove through Oklahoma on our way from North Texas to Colorado Springs and the worst charging experiences we had on the entire trip were all Francis Energy.

One out of Five stars, cannot recommend.

I found it depends on hardware. i almost had to get towed out of SW OK. KS and MO hardware were different and have always worked for me. Must use app as card never worked for me.

Have only used Francis energy once at the Guin, AL Holiday Inn a couple of weeks ago. Plug and charge didn’t work but worked fine through the app. Was noticeably the most robustly built charging station I’ve ever used, really heavy duty, couldn’t believe how heavy the cord was.

It was some issue on the Francis end. They had me completely reset my account. Not sure why that helped because they couldn't even push a charge to my truck before but there must have been some sort of glitch where my truck was on the naughty list. Works now.

I did run into one charger that kept ending the session right away and I had to move. The same location had one charger down. 2/6 down.

Are you getting the maximimum charge rates out of the units? Are they charging by the kwh or by the minute?
