I’m wanting to jump on board but am finding the different harnesses confusing. If comma works with the harness they supply, what is the point, or advantage, of the Xnor harness? I understand the longitudinal upgrade is a separate component.
It is pre-made with the required connection for the longitudinal upgrade. Both harnesses can be upgraded, but the upgrade for the Comma harness costs more because it requires another connection point.

And the xnor harness has the AXM power already bypassed, while the Comma harness would require the owner to modify the harness (it is pretty easy, though).

So to be fully functional, you really need to buy the longitudinal upgrade as well as Luka’s gen1 harness? Or upgrade/modify the standard comma harness at a greater expense?

Comma harness = steering control only. The Rivian does its own speed control. I like this quite a bit.
Xnor harness lets the Comma do lateral and longitudinal. You can always start with the Comma harness and upgrade later if you prefer everything to be done via Comma.

Right, so if I wasn’t worried about longitudinal control, the only benefit to Lukas harness would be that it’s easier to upgrade in the future? This is the harness I’m talking about.

Basically, but it also has the optional fuse tap for power, bypassing the AXM 12v supply.

And the Xnor harness is more expensive than the Comma harness (which is sometimes free).

For me, getting both harnesses from Xnor (Lukas) made sense. It was the "cleaner" install having the fuse tap and easily add the longitudinal control, giving unlocking more features than what the comma does on it's own ( longitudinal control, MADS, Tap in Blind Spot Monitor for lane change). It's an expensive upgrade, but gave me more features than i even really needed.

Being able to set cruse and have it hold the lane anywhere is really all i wanted. I'm very happy with this set-up, especially after how disappointed I was in Driver+ knowing it was never getting better.

I’m just curious if any of you have ever used a Comma 4 with a mirror-tapped radar detector. It seems like they could go side-by-side under the mirror, but I don’t really have a sense of how much space that would take up.

If anyone has that set up and could snap a picture or two, that would be super swell & appreciated.
I have that setup but put my RD as high as possible to the right (passenger side) of the Mobileye cover. I then put the comma 4 as tight as possible to the bottom of the cover (using a Janska slide mount). Not near my car right now but can take a picture later if you want.

This sounds exactly like the set up I would be seeking. If you could post a picture or two, that would be great. Thank you!

Well, I got my Comma 4 installed and running. What a colossal PITA. Spent a couple of hours just trying to get it plugged into the AXM. I knew where the recepticle was but for some reason coudn’t make the connection. Besides the documented tricks to make for easier access and making the bend In the cables, I still couldn’t get the plug to stay vertical long enough to find the slot. Finally, gave up for the night. Went back this morning to give it another go. I mean how hard could this possibly be? SO, I cut away some more of the sheathing that is wrapped around the cables. This allowed for more bend and better angle retention. Went out this morning and put it right in. I could see where the plug was located and used a screw driver to press it in -Bingo!

But, there was/is more. Trying to set up the Comma 4 is almost as pain inducing as getting it all plugged in and connected. Jeez, could they have made that damn display any FN smaller 😡 I mean, c’mon. Anyway got it all going in Open Pilot. Drove it around some and was pretty impressed with the lateral consistency, but I really need MADS. So, I installed Sunny Pliot - yet another adventure.

The big problem I am having now is that I can’t link my Comma 4 to Sunnylink. No matter how many times I try, I can’t get my phone to read the necessary QR code displayed on the micro screen. It’s just a blur. I’ve searched around on the Sunnylink site, but have not found any work around. I am apparently not the only one that has experienced this issue. If anybody has a simple 😂 solution to this dilemma, I’d love to hear it. TIA

Can you back up from the screen a bit and then use the camera zoom to zoom in on the QR code? I've had that work before when scanning smaller codes.

My QR code reader doesn’t zoom like a regular lens. I’ve tried every whichaway I can, but no luck.

What kind of a phone do you have? Usually the stock camera app also acts as a QR code reader.

Bingo! That worked using the main camera. I just never thought of that. Now, it’s just a matter of figuring out all the Sunnylink settings and how to make it work. Thanks, again, for the incite and help.
