Got my RIS Max recently.
1) Alignment (hoping thats all it is)- it pulls strongly to the left, immediately noticed after taking delivery. Waiting on SC repair. If you don't keep the steering wheel to the right 10 degrees or more depending on speed, you will run into the car next to you in seconds.
2) DS door was fine at pick up, but could not be opened wide bc it was parked between two other R1s. Once opened all the way at nome, the door is out of alignment , you need to very FIRMLY shut it otherwise it does not.
3) AC stopped working despite hard and soft reset. Guide suggested letting it sleep and when it woke, it was working again. Strange?
4) Audio as other have said is terrible, and I have the premium sound system.
5) Had a deep gauge in one of the wheels, will get repaired?
6) Some stains on the headliner

Biggest concern is the pulling to the left (Drivers side) and hoping its just an alignment issue and nothing more serious.

I’ve had my R1S tri max for under a week and I’ve just run into my first issue. The first few days the blind spot monitoring system and rear traffic warning system worked just fine. Indicators on the mirrors would light up when someone was in an adjacent lane, or when I was backing up I would get a warning that someone was approaching behind me.
Then seemingly out of nowhere I get the yellow icon saying that there’s an issue. And every time I reverse it says “rear cross traffic warning not available”. I’ve seen a couple of threads on this but not sure if there’s any conclusive fix other than a service appointment. I’ve gone ahead and scheduled a mobile appointment, next available isn’t until the 31st unfortunately but I guess I’ll just have to wait it out. I’ve tried an infotainment reset and a hard reset and the issue persists. I’ve also wiped down the cameras / sensors, the car is still quite clean.
Not a huge bug by any means, just a bit of a bummer when the car is so new!
I am encountering these exact same two issues in my dual standard. I believe it started after the 2024.35.0 update but I’m not positive. I’m taking my vehicle in this Saturday to address that and door alignment issues.

I think it started happening after I installed the update as well, hopefully that's the culprit!

I had it on my Gen1 2024 model couple months back as well. It was due to one of the sensors going bad. It basically tripped the whole system and threw that message. Mobile tech was able to fix by replacing that single sensor (in the front of the vehicle) and the error went away after that.

Really not a huge issue in the grand scheme of things, I can use my mirrors and cameras in the meantime.
Maybe I'll get lucky and the Halloween update will fix it. ? Either way, mobile service appointment set for Halloween.

Replying to your bullet 1. My R1S Max had the same alignment problem from day 1. They had to replace the subframe to correct it on mine.

The Audio is just bad all around on the Gen2. I sadly have the standard audio as I figured it would be fine but honestly it sounds worse than my 1986 Jeep Cherokee that only had 4 speakers and stock AMC head unit. 90K vehicle has a soundsystem that is subpar to a vehicle made in 1986.

I have to jump in here now that the issues are adding up. Took delivery Sept 18 so ~3 weeks. Current issues from major to minor:

1. AC JUST went out yesterday, will not blow cold air. Worked fine yesterday morning, then on the evening commute it would not get cold air to come out. Tried all resets and turned on and off all climate controls.
2. Front parking sensor (passenger side closer to the center) falsely detects an object when travelling less than 10mph. Currently need to turn off the beeping sound in the settings. This error pops up randomly.
3. Tailgate (R1S) alignment is off. The left side sticks out a bit compared to the liftgate.

I have a service call on the 28th to hopefully fix all these issues.

I get thrown Critical Battery Issues at random when the car wakes (but before a full sleep cycle). The issue requires a full restart to clear but the vehicle operates afterwards. I was advised by a mobile service tech the issue is being addressed in a future update, allegedly.

I had the AC stop working several days after I got it. They asked me to hard reset. Info reset and let it sleep. That seemed to work. Sorry about your experience. I still love my R1S and think it will be ok:)

have you had the AC issue pop up again? I’m going to try this as I had the hard drive plugged into the USB

thank you for the reply. Did they try an alignment first or did they somehow know it was a subframe issue. Thank you. Loving it other than alignment.

there is another thread where folks are giving different EQ setting for the audio which has helped the audio a bit.

They tried to correct the alignment first and could not so they replaced with the subframe. Supposedly the alignment is good (I am awaiting my vehicle to be returned to me today). Check your tire tread as mine were wearing abnormally fast and I blew a tire at 300 miles on the vehicle.

Know that most Rivian's are known to have alignment issues pulling right. Pulling left like yours and mine is not normal.

Hope yours is all fixed. Please share after you get it. Thank you so much for the info. I’m hoping they don’t tell me it’s within spec.

Hi,
It’s been good ever since.
I was pretty skeptical but after it slept for a couple hours it woke and blew cold air.

My first 40 days of R1S Gen2 Max, Dual Motor Performance.

day 1
5 mins after delivery
- noticed that wireless phone charger does not work, still waiting for service

day 3
- outside proximity sensons stopped working. Full reboot helped.

day 5
- center console USB ports stopped working. Software update released in 3 weeks helped.

day 20
- noticed subwoffer rattles at 50-80Hz range (standard audio). Apparently a known defect.
- touch sensors on door handles stopped working. They barely worked from the beginning, now completely gone.

Day 28
- weird loud fan/pump sound underneath in the front when in parked or when driving. Pending service.

Day 30
- sudden drop in efficiently from 2.5mi/kW to 1.5mi/kW on same routes in same conditions. Full reboot helped slightly, now it's around 2.1mi/kW in city, which is still low compared to previous mountain trips with 3000 ft elevation at 2.3mi/kW. Pending service.
- A/C does not blow neither cold nor hot air. Reboot does not help. Pending service.

Day 35
- 2nd row display suddenly went dark. Self resolved on next drive.
