I'm the opposite. The F-150 Lightning had this type of configuration and I was constantly wishing it was using Rivian's clutch system to allow a full disconnect. The same for my EV9.I know it's slightly inefficient, but I prefer a full time system to a system that engaged and disengages clutches all the time.
The option to do either would be great, but for me I prefer the full disconnect. That said, I prefer it because I do quite a bit of road tripping. I could see how if the majority of your driving is "local" and a mix of highway/city, then an Auto/Dual Mode would make much more sense. Different strokes for different folks..
