Love this new charger. Love the vinyl match to the wood. Very satisfying plunking the phone down and having it hook up, as opposed to having the phone slide around and get scalding hot.

Any suggestions on sticking the pad down? I don’t love how it moves around slightly and lifts up when I remove the phone from the magnetic pads.

Thank you ??
As for sticking - you can use double sided stickers if you need to stick it, I've seen some people do it. There is a technique to lift the phone up without moving the charger and it's by pushing the phone (as you hold it) with your fingers (same had as you hold the phone)... but stickers should work too.

My brother in law got in the car and mentioned your charger was his favorite part of the interior. I didn’t want to tell him it was aftermarket until he went to get his phone off and the whole pad lifted up

Auch! The double sided tape should do the trick.

Wanted to love it, but it would not stay put for me on a 25 mph trip. Was sliding and not keeping connected. Unfortunately, sending it back.

Edited for clarity: The whole charger pad moves, without a phone on it.

You need a MagSafe case. This is a MagSafe charger, without a MagSafe case the phone won't hold and will slide. MagSafe cases are available for most phones nowadays. A proper MagSafe case is the kind that has a magnetic ring on the back.

A case is not going to stop the charging pad from moving around? I installed it last night, drive today without anything attached (i.e. no phone on the dock)and it went into the passenger seat.

Sorry I thought you meant the phone was sliding around... please show me a photo of the back side of the charger, I suspect you may have received a mis-processed return...

For the record - I also own a Gen2 2025 R1S, and use our charger without issues....so let's see what's going on here, as it's not supposed to move at all.

I just recieved my chargining pad tonight for my Gen 2 R1T. I am really impressed with the fit and finish. I am having a problem with the NFC continually trying to do Apple Pay. Is there a fix to that? Thanks much

It's a Rivian thing since update 2024.39.30 and the subsequent 2 hot fixes (.31 and .32). It reproduces without our charger if you place your phone towards the back of the OEM tray. You can also try plugging our charger in a home USB-C outlet and see it won't happen.
I hope Rivian fixes it but who knows.

I found the following workaround in the meantime - grab some aluminum cooking foil and cut to shape, then put it under our charger. That stops the NFC electromagnetic field that triggers the Apple Wallet app.

Wow, great suggestion. I will give it a try. Thanks
