So as the title says GPS, SOS, Cell/LTE, Nav, WiFi not working...Tried soft reset, no change. Tried the hard reset and get the message to keep holding for 15 seconds but no hard reset happens.

Can drive it and most other functions work. Can use the phone close by with BT to open doors, etc. Latest SW version on the R1S Anyone else have this issue? Its like the network stack layer has given up the ghost. The failure to hard reset seems odd in combo though.

There is a module that controls communications. Hard reset sends off logs. So if it can’t send, won’t hard reset.
that module has failed and will need to be replaced.Has to be programmed and then sent to SC.
I don’t recall module. - maybe TCM? There are a few threads about this as it has hit a few members
Suggest logging the ticket to get the process started

+1 for communications module. Idle curiosity, maybe someone can see where this is located? Is it difficult to service?

Long term - I wonder if it will be upgradeable to 5G at some point? ?

Exactly the same issue with our R1T. Service tells us it’s the communication module . Scheduled for mobile service in 5 weeks

I can’t believe they are serious…I ignore all the doom and gloom usually, even starting from my pre-order in 2019, but this is totally unsustainable and makes me worried about survival. They simply cannot have 10+ week waits for service appoints for semi major issues and keep customers happy. Word of mouth is a powerful sales/marketing tool but it works both ways.

That is super long... I had a TCM go out in my F150, which took a couple visits before they fixed it. Although, probably not as critical in an ICE car. What if you let the battery run mysteriously too low and it causes the car to be undeliverable, will that jump you up in line?.

Had the same problem after trying to update the software. Will need to replace the TCM located behind the rear seats

My R1S is in for service on the same issue. They're waiting for the reprogrammed module from the factory (and I'm only 2 hours from Normal - in more ways than one). Still can't give me a firm estimate on when I'll get my vehicle back. Rental car is less fun to drive.

I assume these modules are made by a 3rd party and hope these are just random failures. Decades back I represented a guy who made resistors that he sold for a few pennies each. One of his customers made control modules for appliances that were then sold to various vendors. One of the vendors started experiencing an unexpected volume of failures that we could confidently establish were caused by excessive voltage applied at the final testing stage for the boards by the appliance company. Our guy was lumped in as a defendant potentially on the hook for hundreds of dollars per unit in repair costs for an item he sold for a profit of about a cent or two. Law school texts have lots of cases like that one.

Had same issue with TCM. Bellevue did get me in pretty fast. Something like 8 days after service request in May. This issue should add some priority

I think I just got hit with the dreaded TCM issue. No LTE, SOS disabled, Wifi not showing new SSIDs. Hard reset...doesn't.

Just in time for my parents to visit from Florida and borrow my truck for a road-trip.

Interesting datapoint, though: LTE is offline and WiFi is not connected, so the service person on the phone said they were going to look at my logs remotely and I said that's going to be pretty difficult with no connectivity and they said they were able to retrieve them. So... redundant non-customer facing networks? That's pretty dope.

Huge bummer Jay. Hopefully they can get you in quickly. To get a log they had me push a button on the main screen. Service has to order the TCM ahead of time. Had my truck for about 2.5 days.
Request a loaner truck ahead of time. Maybe even call the 855 number and ask to talk to Michael at Bellevue SC and tell him personally you have a road trip planned very soon. They gave me a R1S loaner

Thanks for the info about Michael! I called Rivian service and the dude was telling me it was due to the OTA. I told him to call Michael at Bellevue and he put me on hold and then ten minutes later came back and said Michael said it was the TCM and I was like ?

They said they would do what they can to get me a Rivian loaner (and I pushed hard for it) so we'll see. Appointment is July 5.
