Many years ago in my youth, I spent several years as a motorcycle officer on the Tallahassee Police Department. Even way back then, you always acknowledged another motor when you passed, and not just a police motor. When you are on a motor all day, every day, this behavior becomes ingrained in your psyche. To this day, I always wave at passing police vehicles, even if he's tucked in sandbagging. This is like the motorcycle wave. Just leave me alone.
